I think we win a at least one more Super Bowl with Vermiel. Martz wasn't ready to be HC, but our team talent wise was primed for greatness. Having that experienced HC with that talent would have worked better. I know we would have lost Martz to another team, but Vermiel's teams did well in Kansas City offensively.

Very cool. Thanks for posting.
I have only shed tears of joy a couple of times in my life....that day was one of them (that's a little embarrassing to admit).
I had wondered who Warner was pointing to when he did the two hand point from the podium. Good ol Ernie Conwell. An underrated player.
That teams was loaded and loaded with grinders. Conwell, Jeff Robinson, Todd Collins, Ricky Phroel,
Tom Nutten, D'marco Farr, Ray Agnew....the whole secondary. The big superstars are great but great teams are built on the grinders. For every Robert Quinn you need a Hayes, for every Tavon Austin you need a Barksdale.

Conwell was a beast.
He played with staples in his arm. He was on the field making one arm catches and running people over.

Damn straight. I remember one play of his vividly, but I don't know the year. It was against the Saints, and he caught a short pass on a quick slant and proceeded to stiff arm multiple Saints defenders on his way to a pretty huge gain. I just sat there like, "wow. that was badass."

Conwell was a decathlete in college. I also believe he was the weight lifting champ of the Horns locker room.
