If he isn't guaranteed much, I don't see how we could lose?

Push for the SuperBowl this year. If he doesn't work, cut him. I want some VET depth before hitting the draft.

If Rams doesn't trade/sign for him, I would be surprised. He is a very good talent. Has 1 or 2 years left. Having Evans means Rams can go BPA in draft. Win-Win. Rams should trade for him. Who knows after his release, Evans may want to go to a SB bound team for a little less money.

Usually, I'm not for trading for guys that are on the wrong side of 30 but Mathis still had something in the tank last year. He's also a bit of a prankster that caused Mike Florio to write the following bum hurt article.

My God... what a clown Florio was.

Let's see... it's OK for him to throw up wild conjecture on just about anything his fertile mind can make up... no validation... no real sources... just throw it up and watch people spin around in orbit.

But Mathis does essentially the same thing and Florio gets all butt-hurt?

I'm not a fan of considering Mathis due to age concerns... but, if this prank on Florio and the rest of the media was the sole consieration?

I'd say sign him in a minute!!

Well done, Evan!

Whether it’s lying to one reporter or lying to all of them, the lesson is that no one should listen to anything Mathis ever has to say, if he’s going to continue to engage in the pro athlete equivalent of having pizzas delivered to his next-door neighbor.

That’s hilarious. When you’re 12.Regardless of what any players or fans think of the media, the media has a job to do, just like everyone else. What Mathis has been doing is no different than a member of the media standing on the sidelines and shining a laser pointer in his eyes as he’s trying to prepare for the snap. That’s also hilarious. When you’re 12.

translation - my butt hurts so hard.

Hell Id take Mathis in a heartbeat! Trade a 7th! everyone is talking about him not doing as good as he did but really could he honestly do worse than Davin Josoeh did last year? At the very least I see him being average and more and likely above average to stellar which is good enough for me!

Evans has been consistently one of the top guards in the league, including last year..only difference was he was injured

When you look at players on the o-line, Mathis is definitely an asset, a strength... I'm guessing the issue with him is compensation and/or contract
