Which player has most exceeded your ‘17 preseason expectations?

  • Jared Goff. Night and day improvement over ‘16, huh?

  • Todd Gurley. Another dramatic improvement, even some MVP whispers.

  • Robert Woods. I expected a solid and steady #2 for Goff, but not a freaking beast!

Can I choose a coach? If so, Sean McVay. If not, I'm choosing Jamon Brown.

Well Counselor, my choice is Jared Thomas Goff, I realize he's not exceeding your expectations, but he certainly is exceeding mine!

Robert Woods is the closest comparison to Isaac Bruce
I thought I was the only one to notice his body, movements and knack for play making resembled our GOAT WR

I own one Jersey, a Bruce jersey my aunt bought me Xmas '98. So I am biased. I know Woods won't have same career- but can certainly have the same 3 year impact.\

To answer the poll it's Goff and it's not close. I was convinced he was a bust. Damn near certain. His mistake free play(aka not turning the ball over, he still misses guys but that's expected) considering his age is incredible.

Woods has played like something we have been clamoring for year for....a number 1 receiver! The kid has been awesome!

We've had more talented guys over the years but never the supporting cast to allow a kid like Woods to be so consistent. He doesn't make crazy plays like DeAndre Hopkins, he's just damn good at executing what's called.

What was up with Woods getting the 1987 AIDS treatment after jumping into the crowd? Come on LA get off your phones.

I did a comparison between the 2017 squad and the GSOT a couple times in the training camp/pre-season period. Others made their own comparisons as well.

Out of the three choices that have been given, exceeded my expectations has to be Goff, I was never a huge fan of that draft decision, but rolled with it, props to Fisher for going with the guy that would be great in a season or two, rather than a ready to run QB - the improvement in Goff must be down to McVay, the dude is a genius.

Woods I've always liked as a player, he's no showboat (OBJ etc) but has always just got the job done - Woods and Watkins have always been two receivers I wished the Rams had drafted.

I have to highlight Brown, he's the most improved player hands down, I loved the draft pick, he's living up to my expectations :)

BUT, the player that has exceeded my expectations hands down is John Sullivan at C, I like others thought that C would be a weakness after we lost Groy in FA, but Sullivan is a beast!

McVay & Kromer have turned a unit which was one of the worst last year into a top 5 unit this year - it truly is amazing!

I’d have to say Wang. He’s really exceeded my expectations. He’s been Huge.

The Johnsons have also made
An impact on that backend.

But seriously, i watched all Goff’s throws
In college and his pocket movement and arm were incredible. Never once doubted him. Jamon Brown I scouted this year in preseason and posted about it, he really improved somewhere before
Preseason.

Robert Woods was the one signing I was down on and thought it was a waste of money. But was I wrong. What a great route runner and tough guy. He’s a possession specialist with an explosive dimension. Reminds me of Bruce and Reggie Wayne. Amazing.

One out of left field ... longacre

Dude has been pretty damm good in relief of Quinn (also ebukam has been been playing well )

So much so I thought Quinn May be on the trading block come year end

Goff isn’t exceeding my expectations as this is exactly the kind of player I thought he was and could be and I’m freaking loving it

All of them! Woods has blown me away. Goff is what I wanted him to be. Gurley is what I knew he was. Whitworth is making a run out team MVP (although Gurley and Donald are leading in my mind - Gurley leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage by the way). Brockers, Higbee

Smaller name guys have impressed me too. Samson Ebukam is getting reps. Matt Longacre, Robey-Coleman.

Everyone has surpassed expectations. Even Tavon.

And then there's Robert Quinn

Fucking heartbreak, considering his medical history(brain tumor) I think it might be in his best interest to retire.

Brown has really got it together lately. I haven't seen him play any decent ball since his rookie season. But there are some real tests up ahead. It's not like he faced JJ Watt yesterday.

Joyner. I was skeptical of moving him out of the slot to FS. WP has been allowing him to come up closer to the LOS and play in tighter spaces a lot more than a typical FS. Joyner is having a great season.

Sullivan. I was concerned about his back surgery but held out hope because he had completed an injury free season. He been the Center this team has needed (and a lot of us posters have been screaming for) for years.

I was all in on the Woods signing, the Whitworth signing, and the Watkins trade. Still on board

The one signing I was not entirely sold on was Webster. I know why we did it and it made sense, but there were many who just assumed he would step into his first starting job w/ no problems. I'm still not sold on him as our #2 CB.

Robert Woods is the closest comparison to Isaac Bruce on this squad. Still waiting for Sammy to truly sync with the Golden Arm. Of course, once opposing defenses start swinging coverage to stop Robert, Sammy might just take off then.
i am thinking the very same!

Ya gotta agree w/ Jamon Brown followed by RT Hav, as they were switching positions in camp and didn't look set during the pre season.

In Aaron Kromer I Trust

Edit: BTW I voted for Goff, he just looks outstanding. Now the real test for Goff and the team. 5/6 games we find out who we really are

Brockers looks better than I expected. I always expect good things from him. He looks pro bowl worthy to me.
I wasn't sure what would happen with Barron.
Also, A Donald looks better than I expected (holdout-contract distractions)

Jamon B and Goff had the talent, so I am not suprised

Out of the three mentioned, I'd say Goff.
Although I only really get to see highlights of the games, on UK TV and Redzone, he seems to be developing into the leader you expect QB's to be.

However, the O-line has looked good, Gurley has also shook off last year and is now, thus far, a feared player.
Woods looks sharp and if he's our number 1 WR then I'm happy with that.

It's a tough call to name only one player because the LA Rams on a whole are exceeding my expectations.
I'm very happy with how the team has played.

Robert Woods. I saw flashes of what Goff can do even in that pathetic offense last year. But Woods is showing that he can not only play in this league but be the go to guy. He catches, he fights, he gets open, and he seems to hit his routes on time and in place. REALLY happy with this pick up.
