I was ready to throw him on the heap at the beginning of the year, but I'm a convert. The first game could have been an figment of everyone's imagination -- but two games isnt' --- I think he is damned impressive.......sure, the kid has learning pains (like the interception) to go through (but he's not to blame for that one, the line is -- but he is the horse to ride.

And no, dont' go for the points, when you are trying to prove your point to the offensive line, and you need to burst the bubble of the Cowboys. it was the right call.

He makes good decisions often, now this is the Cowboys defense he faced. I wanna see how he fares against the Whiners and beyond. His throws don't have a zip very often so that worries me especially against the Seahawks secondary.
I doubt you get a chance to see how he does against them. I'm betting Hill will be playing.

I agree we're gonna see Hill against the Seahawks. They're a very tough matchup for a young and inexperienced QB, Hill is the guy logic dictates will get the nod to start. Fisher will go with the guy he thinks gives them the best chance to win, meaning the guy who has the experience.

All that aside, however... Davis is the better QB for this team. When he's on the field this offense sustains drives. He makes key plays, and sees things very well. The kid is much better than I thought he was.

My only concern is he has not seen a good defense yet. He cannot afford to be turning the ball over with dumb throws vs those better defenses.

The offensive line does not throw interceptions. It is better to take a sack than throw a pick 6. Overall the kid played well, but the Dallas D is not very good. He has accuracy but those floating passes are going to result in more than his fair share of interceptions. I like the kid, and I think he is a good quality backup. He is not our long term solution at QB, IMHO.

His arm is not strong enough against good defenses. His passes float.

Davis played well but that first INT was unacceptable.

That said, I think we're going to need his mobility out there.

I think he played well, but that might've been the end of the Austin Davis era barring another Shaun Hill injury. Those late game interceptions just can't happen..

On the other hand, Hill is older than dirt and I think Davis has played almost as well as Hill. To me, that gives Davis a very slight edge because Davis might get better and Hill's skills are declining even as we speak.

Still, I don't think it's going to matter who starts this year. I'd like to see Davis starting but it's only because I'm hopeful that he will get better than Hill.

Next game, the Shegals and we rally around our starting QB and we will kick ass!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what's hard to understand about this. As a Ram, Davis has outplayed Hill. Maybe in the past you could say Hill has "outplayed" Davis. Anything else is logic built upon fallacies. Davis should have 4 TDs in this game. He was trying to win the game at the end and made a mistake. Logical, considering 2nd career start.

Davis has fresh legs and a fresh arm. And until the 4th qtr, making all the right decisions. And that's on the D. If the D was any good, we have a handful more of drives Davis can try his hand at.

Again, the kid pretty much put up 34 points for the Rams if you factor in Cook's dropped TD, the 4th and goal fail, and the Wells fumble butt snap.

I think he played well, but that might've been the end of the Austin Davis era barring another Shaun Hill injury. Those late game interceptions just can't happen..

Blowing 21 point first half leads shouldn't happen either. Should be bench the entire defense?

I'm not understanding the Hill support here. He played 1 qtr or was it 1 half? He played decent just as austin has played well. HILL WONT BE BACK WITH THIS TEAM NEXT YEAR (sorry for the caps) unless he takes us deep in a playoff race... the guy is probably 5 months away from turning in his nfl pension papers. Austin will be here next year he is young let him play to see what we have. And as we all seen he can play. U always go with the young guy unless u have a future hofer. Well at least that's what I do in Madden then I'll trade the hof guy before week 8 lol.

He was good enough to win with, today.

But, I have a low tolerance level for interceptions. He had two bad ones.

The first one was bad. I'm not so sure about the second. He overthrew Quick, for sure, but I think if Quick didn't mistime the jump that pass could have been caught.

If after two pretty solid games for a 3rd string, 3rd year UDFA QB you don't think Davis deserves another shot, then you need to rewatch Hills starts as a Ram in preseason/opener. Is he our QB of the future? Maybe not. Does he give us the best chance to win right now? I think so. He is not Keith Null 2.0

It's not a question of understanding Athos, it's a question of interpretation. What I don't understand is how can you say someone has outplayed someone else when there is nothing to compare. If Hill had played a couple of games and Davis had played a couple of games then sure, comparisons can be made. That isn't the case here though. The only thing I can compare to the play of Davis is the first half of the Viking game. I thought Hill played very well until the ill advised throw he made that was intercepted. I've seen the same ill advised throws being made by Davis. So while you pooh pooh the work done by both of them in TC and the preseason, I can't.

Davis has made some really bad throws. Throws that I didn't see Hill making in the preseason. I've seen Davis get out of trouble with using his feet to great effect. I haven't seen as much of that from Hill. I've also seen Davis step up into sacks and I haven't seen Hill do that.

Let's see how Hill does for a whole game and then compare them. Even then, Hill won't have had the opportunity to play against such a horrible D like the Cowgirls possess.

Having said all that, you do realize that I said I think it would be a good idea to start Davis instead of Hill right?

Davis has earned the start, if I'm the coach I ride him until he shows me he needs to be taken out. You can argue that Hill hasn't shown anything to show he doesn't deserve to start, but in that same vein he's shown nothing that says he deserves to either, if those 10 passes aren't indicative of failure they sure aren't indicative of success. I mean I like Hill, but we have to assess what we have going forward and what he is going forward is a soon to be retired NFL QB.

Go with the hot hand, youngster, all that jazz. Basically I feel like Davis has shown he deserves the right to continue to show development, something that we won't get out of Hill.

Also the fact that Hill won't have played for 4-5 weeks by the time week 5 roles around. Do we want a rusty, OLD QB, leading us in what will most assuredly be a slugfest against the Iggles?

I just want to win.
It doesn't matter who starts at qb if we blow a 21 pt lead.

late game INT's happen to all QB's, not just UDFA in their 2nd career start

Brady, Manning (both) Rodgers Wilson all have done it at some point in their careers

I think the whole team responds to Davis better than Hill
