I think the Chiefs might also be a good trade partner for Foles. Reid had stated in the past that he thinks highly of Foles and Foles' was drafted by Reid.

True that! As did fish and snead.

And looking at what kind of crazy $$ was paid out in FA this year, you could see why they made the move.
Yes, Foles was a huge disappointment but had he not been, heck if he would have just repeated the Davis/Hill numbers, he'd be looking at a big pay day

Well that's the risk/reward. Signing the extension when they did would have been brilliant had he played the season like he did against Seattle in game #1
Heck I think his value after game 4 would have brought a bigger number than what he signed for.
It was a gamble and they rolled snake eyes.

So if Foles was a rookie QB, with his NFL experience considered as having played against the toughest competition, I wonder where he would be drafted...

Where would he rank among this season's QB prospects....

From BadnewsSports:
"Foles has prototype size for the position, is capable of standing tall and making difficult throws in the face of blitzing defenders and has shown the ability to be phenomenal when given time and surrounded by quality talent and good offensive coaching. Under those circumstances he posted one of the best seasons we've seen from a QB.
However, with subpar receiving talent, horrible play calling and a total lack of a coherent offensive scheme, he expectedly came crashing back down to earth while under constant fire from pass rushers who manhandled his young and inexperienced offensive line.
Very few QBs can thrive in those conditions. With his leadership abilities, NFL skill set and size, we believe that Foles has a bright NFL future, so long as he isn't drafted by a team that doesn't know what it's doing on offense. He is by far the most pro ready QB in this draft and while some of his mechanics are flawed, he has shown the ability to dominate against top tier talent and lead his team to the post season while racking up some very impressive stats.... "

It's not just the draft that is a crap shoot. The truth is that there are many ways to succeed and even more ways to fail. It takes more than ability and health to succeed in the NFL.

Here's hoping our rookie QB can overcome the obstacles in his way and can give us the stability at the position that every team needs to succeed.

Rams say they have fielded trade offers for Nick Foles

After trading up to the No. 1 overall pick to draft quarterback Jared Goff, the Rams are looking to unload quarterback Nick Foles.

Rams G.M. Les Snead told Shelley Smith of ESPN that “at least five” teams have reached out to inquire about acquiring Foles in a trade.

It’s hard to imagine those teams are offering much more than a seventh-round draft pick for Foles, but the Rams might be able to get something for Foles before draft weekend comes to an end. That would leave them with Case Keenum as the veteran competition for Goff.

Goff is expected to win the starting job, but Keenum told Snead he’s going to work hard to make the coaches at least consider keeping Keenum as the starter, which he was proclaimed to be before the Rams moved up for Goff.

“I’m going to make it a difficult decision for you,” Keenum said, according to Snead.

Foles won’t get that opportunity in Los Angeles, and will likely go elsewhere as a backup.

No wonder he couldn't find the open receivers. EYES OPEN, NICK! :D

Maybe a couple of Snicker bars . . .

That's what Case is supposed to do----make it as difficult for the Anointed One as possible to force Jerad to earn his starting position outright.

Now that the Los Angeles Rams drafted their franchise quarterback in Jared Goff, the team is open to dangling two veterans in trades.

NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reported Friday the Rams are not only fielding trade offers for Nick Foles, but would also listed to teams interested in dealing for Case Keenum.

Several teams reportedly reached out to the Rams to see what it would cost to take Foles off the Rams hands. We can't imagine Les Snead could finagle more than a seventh round pick for a signal-caller seemingly destined to be cut. Foles was the worst quarterback in the NFL last season. His magical 2013 looks more and more a product of a new Chip Kelly scheme and some incredible luck.

That the L.A. brass is willing to part with Keenum -- which would likely mean keeping Foles -- is almost certainly based on the type of compensation they could receive. If a team is willing to pay for Keenum and no one is for Foles, you make the deal.

Goff is on a path to start from the get-go. If either Foles or Keenum plays significant minutes in 2016 it's another lost year anyway. Getting something in return for either of two below-average starters is better than cutting one for nothing. Whether any team is willing to fork over even a late-round pick for a backup-caliber quarterback remains to be seen.

Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure. Sometimes it's still just rubbish.

WTF is with that headline? The author makes an assumption that the Rams would deal Keenum if the compensation was there, somehow equates to the Rams being open to it? Is that how it works now? I can say that the Rams would take 4 first round picks for Aaron Donald, and it means the Rams are open to dealing him.

Case Keenum - QB - Rams
NFL Network's Mike Silver reports the Rams "would also listen" to trade offers for Case Keenum, in addition to Nick Foles.

The Rams are going to move one of these quarterbacks after selecting Cal QB Jared Goff at No. 1 overall on Thursday night. They'd definitely prefer to keep Keenum as the veteran clipboard-holder, but he's also the one other teams would probably rather acquire. Foles was atrocious last season and has a bad contract. The Rams would likely take a late-rounder for either player.

Boy does that show how bad he was in his last 7 games with only 53% comp, 2td, 9 int, 55.5 rate
