I hope I've calculated these correctly, excludes points scored directly off turnovers and assumes 7 points for a TD.

So if those rankings hold up throughout the rest of the season, that means that the Rams played 7 of their total games this season against four teams in the top 6. That is a lot of games against some of the stingiest defenses with backup qb's.

They have been playing better last 2 home games 74-7 with no red zone trips allowed if I remember correctly. They will kno GW defense better next year and will be a team nobody wants on their schedule.

My numbers came out slightly different. Rams are 6th because they've only given up 25 TDs on defense.

Oh yeah, mine includes kickoff return TDs, so Rams, Dolphins, Redskins, Steelers, Packers and Titans all have one less using your method.

What's really good is that we've also faced 3 of the top 10 offenses this year in DAL, PHIL, and DEN. Those 3 teams account for 6 of the total TDs given up.

SEA, KC, SD are in the top 15 BTW.

I've always thought you should take TDs from scimmige and then subtract scoop and scores and pick 6's. So, our scoring defense for yesterday was -7.

Nice post. It demonstrates what my eyes have been telling me of late... That this defense has arrived and is improving week to week with a deep, young, and very talented secondary behind that front four. They are for real.

Next year's ceiling is only limited by how well they can tune this offense. I like the latent talent, too, much more explosiveness than they are given credit for. It just needs to come together with a signal caller who can stay on the field and spread it around.

Updated with our second shut out added in, I decided to exclude the kick off return TD, add it in if you'd like. Note the difference between us and the Seahawks is currently 4 points.

scoring defense: Rams have 5 TDs, Seattle 4, Zona 5, Detroit 2, Buffalo 3. So, that's points scored by defense.
