I posted about this earlier and am right there with you. The NFC is wide open and, in particular, the NFC west is anybody's to take. I could see the Rams almost winning out down the stretch if we get healthy and stay that way. It's a long season. We shall see how the trade deadline shakes out around the NFL. How injuries impact team. Etc. It is far too early to give up on this season. However, enough warning signs (and cluster o-line injuries...) are there that I think it would be ill advised to part with significant assets for short-term rentals. Anyone we acquire has to at least be part of the plan for another season or two, i.e. when Donald's contract is over, at which point, we might well be looking at a re-build. I think Stafford's and McVay's contracts expire at around the same time? I am quite sure Wagner's does. And Ramsey and Kupp will be over 30. The way they all are aligned in duration makes me think the front office has clearly defined its competitive window.
Lots of fans are down on the team right now because we lost the San Fran yet again. Don't let that fool you. Thankfully, the Rams are never in reality as bad as they look vs. the 49ers, and the 49ers are never as dominating as they look vs. the Rams. The rest of the NFL beats those punks with regularity. It is frustrating how we can't even compete against them, but you can't get too up or too down over any one week in the NFL.
