It’s going to be a while before the Seahawks get left tackle Russell Okung back in the lineup.

On Friday, coach Pete Carroll confirmed reports that Okung will be place on injured reserve/designated for return because of a torn ligament in his left big toe. Okung received multiple medical opinions before the team made their decision and Carroll said the team is hopeful that Okung will be back after the mandatory eight games on the sideline.

“It’s a 6-8 week injury and we will hope that that will all work out right for us,” Carroll said, via Curtis Crabtree of PFT. “He’s kind of excited about the fact that he has a chance to get back this season as we are as well, so we will just ride it out, see what happens, take good care of him and hopefully be is able to make it.”

There was better injury news elsewhere for the Seahawks. Carroll said defensive end Chris Clemons will be able to play against Jacksonville on Sunday, which will be his first game action of the 2013 season because of rehab from a torn ACL.

Cornerback Brandon Browner, who has also missed the first two games, also appears set to make his first game appearance of the season. Browner, who has been bothered by a hamstring injury, is probable after a strong week of practice.

6-8 weeks, meaning he'll be eligible to come back right around the MNF game. Either way, he won't be 100% when the Rams play them.

Offensive tackles dropping all over the NFL. Seems to be very unusual & most are Blind Side Protectors.
