Don't have enough of an opinion to say about this pick one way or another. Seems like a good depth pick who can develop and evnetually replace an aging Barwin or Quinn if the 3-4 transition doesn't work out for him.

STRENGTHS: Boasts undeniable athleticism, including the quickness and mobility to potentially handle the conversion to an off-the-line linebacker role. Has a compact, well-built upper body with disproportionately long arms, which helps him generate power as a bull rusher, as well as slip blocks. Good initial quickness off the snap out of the three-point stance to cross the face of tackles and shows the agility and awareness to be quite effective looping back inside on stunts. Appears comfortable dropping back into coverage, showing the body control to change directions quickly as well as good speed and effort in pursuit. Good length and strength for the drag down tackle. May be only scratching the surface of his potential.
He sounds like he is going to be a lot of Fun to watch grow in Wade's system!!:snicker::cheers::rockon:

Didn't know much about this guy at all so I started to do a little digging and love his physical traits. May be my favorite pick in the draft after researching (and for the record I really, really liked the Kupp pick). Just for comparison sake (and yes this is cherry picked, obviously):

Player A: 6'3'', 246 lbs., 33 1/2'' arms, 9 1/4'' Hands, 4.53 40, 37.0 vert, 126.0 broad, 6.70 3 cone, 4.06 20 yd shuttle, 11.15 60 yd shuttle

Player B: 6'1 7/8'', 240 lbsl, 32 1/2'' arms, 9 5/8'' hands, 4.45 40, 39'' vert, 130.0 broad, 7.02 3 cone, 4.31 20 yd shuttle, 11.64 60 yd shuttle

Player B is new Ram Samson Ebukam's pro day. Player A is Von Miller at the combine, where he led all linebackers in 40 time, vertical and broad jump, 3 cone drill, 20 and 60 yard shuttle.

Not saying Ebukam is or ever will be Miller, but Wade does know how to work with this type player.

Feel like this could be an absolute steal.

Two players from E. Washington...one more polished son of a coach....the other better measurables and relatively new to the game.....this is only one example but still, it'll be very interesting to see who's more productive after there rookie years...all the way to year 4 in the pros. I'm sure most can guess which one I'd choose. Some things you just can't teach.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks the desired length and bulk to remain as a full-time defensive end in the NFL and is very raw as a linebacker, relying on his athleticism and motor to make plays. Too often is out of control as an edge rusher, allowing himself to get off-balance and knocked to the ground. Wasted motion as a pass rusher, flailing his arms rather than swiping away at the efforts of blockers to slow him. Needs to do a better job of anticipating and protecting himself against cut blocks.

IN OUR VIEW: Ebukam plays with a Tasmanian devil style of aggression and relentlessness that could earn him a spot on special teams while learning the nuances of the game. Until then, his burst off the edge could help as a pass rush specialist.

Nice to come back to review this draft pick thread. Can't believe I didn't make a post. Seems perfect for the OLBer rusher in the Rams new defense. Wade can coach Samson up. I bet he can't wait to mold the Tas. I think WP can improve his techniques early on. In a year or two he could be a monster Tasmanian Devil

The Vonn Miller comparison .... i am not surprised. I was thinking the same thing. Obviously he has a long ways to go to live up to that, but the similarities are strikingly similar
