Rams sign Isaiah Battle

When the Colts signed a pair of third-round picks on Friday, all 2015 draft picks were under contract. On Monday, the entire 2015 supplemental draft class agreed to terms.
It was a class of one.
The Rams have announced that Clemson tackle Isaiah Battle is under contract, 18 days after being taken in the fifth-round of the supplemental selection process.
The Rams gave up their corresponding pick for 2016 to get Battle, and they undoubtedly gave Battle a slotted contract based on the contract given to the player taken in the same spot during the regular 2015 draft.

Wichmann being put on the PUP list the same day battle signs? Maybe Battle just went ahead on the depth chart.

Had to watch some more Battle highlights. The kid plays stout on both sides of the line and has a very good punch (illegal punch not withstanding). He also locks on really well without letting the defender into his body. I think some said he is a waste bender but it didn't seem to negatively affect his game all that much in what I've seen. I think the guy is going to be very good and if he doesn't take over a starting OT spot in 2016, that likely means we have a pretty damn good duo out there. Either way, I think we have our bookends and a very good swing tackle for years to come.

I'm sure he is going to take up a roster spot on the 53. I highly doubt the Rams risk putting him on the practice squad and there is no red shirt program in the NFL. I was confused by the whole red shirt idea. I suppose that means he likely won't dress for any games this season. If Wichmann is on the PUP list, that may change his status but I think it's a given he takes one of the 53 spots.
