Joe Gurley is reporting that Darrell Williams and Cornelius Lucas have been re-signed by the rams.

Sorry guys I have no idea how to do a link. And could someone change title of thread to say two Olinemen, and not the Olinemen. Thanks

"Have been ex-wife by the Rams". Huh? I'm as confused as a blind lesbian in a fish market.

Tackle Cornelius Lucas took a visit to Kansas City recently, but he won’t be joining the Chiefs for the 2018 season.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Lucas is re-signing with the Rams with the team starting their offseason program on Monday.

Lucas joined the Rams last September after being waived by the Lions. He was inactive for every game but the regular season finale, however. Lucas started that Week 17 game as the Rams’ regulars prepared for the playoffs.

The Rams have not added any tackles in free agency this offseason, leaving Lucas as the top option to back up Andrew Whitworth and Rob Havenstein as the team heads toward the draft.

Thought they would. Heck gotta have some backups on the roster. They need to get good competition going to for backups that can take over when starters leave. Hope they can resign at least 2 out of 3 that will be free agents next year.

@BonifayRam Cornelius Lucas returns and again maybe he's better suited for RT, however, Darryl Williams is cannon fodder at best. Williams a better LT than RT, but did not play well at in his only start against the San Francisco 49ers as he gave QB Sean Mannion no chance. Lucas played well, one of the few against San Francisco, so now he'll get a look at LT as moving forward I'm sure the Rams will draft a couple of tackles come April 27th - 28th.

I have to ask ReekofRams;

Is the "reek" you speak of before or after a game?

I am fine with this sign. My opinion on Lucas is about the same as yours. Now he will get fully Kromertized here very early & I think there is something for Kromer to work with with Cornelius. I thought his set up & feet looked a lot faster than expected in that wk #17 against the 9ers.

I just have so little hope on Darrell Williams ability to move further in his development. That 9ers game he was a mess. Rams need to think seriously on a swing OT with that #87 selection & not wait till the third day of the draft.

Yeah I was surprised and disappointed that the Rams chose to re-sign Williams. There has got to better talent out there to be had. Oh may the draft gods grant us our LT.

This is the second set of coaches to sign Williams so I have to think there's something there.
He's not necessarily Camp fodder but that depends on what they do in the draft and udfa.

I think we all want upgrades in the back up O linemen however it's pretty uncommon in today's NFL to acquire serious depth there, particularly in the draft.

In my opinion the best we can hope is that we have some good Scouts that can find some good raw talent that Kromer can develop.

We definitely need more depth at OL. I heard the draft is weaker than past drafts at OT, so maybe we don't find our Whitworth replacement in this year's draft.

Well, I think we still have a first-rounder for next year so maybe our timing is perfect for finding Whitworth's replacement in the 2019 draft.

Anytime you have to depend on a rookie OLT to protect a pocket passer .........:death:

No. He has to study under Whitworth for a year. :D
Yes Sir! Thus this 2018 draft is by far the best opportunity to make that happen.

I am well fully aware that most hold the belief that the oldest starting LT in the NFL in 2017 will play out his contract.....& will be here after this 2018 season....I hold no such strong beliefs that the Rams outstanding LT will have much in his tank after he turns 38 yrs old before this season ends. I consider it highly probable that he will retire.

My thoughts on this is..... its hard enough to get these best rookie OL'ers up & running even after 2 to 3 yrs in the NFL just to get them in the lineup, let alone knowing what to do:huh:. NOW is the time to do something & not put this problem up in the back of the dark upper attic.

NOW is the time to take your best most accurate high powered bullet #87 & get the best that you can;). Waiting till the third day or worse the next 2019 draft when Snead is alleged to have a No#1 selection again will be way too late of course IMO. But I am so retro for having such views....

Snead has traded away the last two First round picks & in addition he has now traded away the 2018 & 2019 Second round selections do you think he will stop that type of dealing now?
