Rams sign Hekker to 6-year, 18M extension

Maybe the easiest deal for the Rams to do with their FAs....but by no means the least important. This was must do deal.
The most impressive thing to me is how much Hekker can place the ball inside the 20.
This team is very close to having the different pieces complement each other very well. A punter who can pin teams deep consistantly complimenting an aggressive big play D, that is a good match.
Now, on to Barksdale, Kendricks, Britt ect.

The guy can punt the ball a mile high, usually allowing the coverage team to get there to cut off angles for the returner. He executes his instructions to angle the ball towards the sidelines well, making the sidelines an extra "tackler." He is usually money at dropping the ball inside the opponents 20-yard line, the dreaded coffin corner punts. He can blast the snot out of the rock for distance when you need him to. Plus, he has better QB skills than just about any non-NFL QB and probably could challenge quite a few NFL signal callers too.
