I myself have been tough on Higs. He has proven himself later on in the season. He has stepped up huge. As for Everett, for still being green dude is going to be beast in another season...

Yes Everett ans Higbee made timely big plays. But what about Josh Reynolds? Talk about clutch!! Its gonna be lethal next tear when we get Kupp back as well.

Karate61,
Interesting post by you. Let me ask you a question: What was behind your thinking that Higbee and Everett would play huge roles agaiinst the Saints?

No one was talking about them much. Not in the media, etc. They seem to be forgotten.

I think those two guys have had a really good year. Some clutch catches at big moments, such as Everett's game winning catch against the Chiefs. And, Higbee has had some great grabs this season as well. Not many drops either.

With all the talk coming off the Dallas game and the rushing yards, I thought the Saints would focus on stopping the run (Gurley & Anderson) over the pass. I don't think they thought young Goff could handle the elements and crowd noise, so to help that, focus on taking away Cooks and Woods as much as possible.

Also, the Saint's dbs haven't been great. Marshon Lattimore would probably take on Cooks and Apple gets Woods; leaving the other two average safeties on the tight ends.

So, with an emphasis on stopping the run and the wide outs, whose left? Reynolds & the Tight ends. And that was my logic (or stupidity if you like) that lead to my prediction.
