EARTH CITY, Mo. -- A look at playing time and production of the St. Louis Rams' rookie class in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the New York Giants.

Offensive lineman Greg Robinson, first round, No. 2 overall: Robinson played all 63 offensive snaps and five more on special teams against the Giants. Once again, Robinson had his share of struggles in pass protection with a few good moments in the run game mixed in. Robinson still needs a lot of polish but he's getting plenty of opportunities to get it and that should serve him well long term.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald, first round, No. 13 overall: The Giants clearly made Donald a priority as Rams coach Jeff Fisher mentioned some of the blocking schemes designed specifically to slow him down. He played 53 snaps, most among defensive linemen, and another eight on special teams. But it was one of his quietest games because of the added attention as he didn't register any statistics on the unofficial pressbox numbers. It was a rough day for all of the Rams defenders with Donald no exception.

Defensive back Lamarcus Joyner, second round, No. 41 overall: Joyner returned to action for the first time in five games and he made his presence felt right away with a big hit on receiver Preston Parker. But that was his only tackle as he played 16 defensive snaps and nine on special teams. He was also heavily involved in the 80-yard touchdown pass to receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on another busted coverage.

Running back Tre Mason, third round, No. 75 overall: Mason had things rolling pretty well but didn't get as many opportunities as you might have expected for a guy who averaged 5.8 yards per carry on 13 attempts. That works out to 76 yards and he added a 10-yard touchdown run while playing 30 snaps. That's tied with Benny Cunningham for most snaps among the team's running backs.

Safety Maurice Alexander, fourth round, No. 110 overall: Alexander played 17 snaps, all on special teams, a place where he seems to have settled in. He did not register any statistics.

CB E.J. Gaines, sixth round, No. 188 overall: It was a tough and scary day at the office for Gaines, who left early with a shoulder injury but returned only to leave later with a concussion and lacerated lip when safety T.J. McDonald accidentally hit him in the head with his knee. Gaines played 42 defensive snaps and four on special teams before departing. In that time, he had three tackles and a pass defended.

C Demetrius Rhaney, seventh round, No. 250 overall: Rhaney is on injured reserve for the season with a knee injury.

Undrafted rookie roundup: Running back Trey Watts played 19 special teams snaps. ... Defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks, tight end Alex Bayer and cornerback Marcus Roberson were pregame inactives.
