EARTH CITY, Mo. -- A look at playing time and production of the St. Louis Rams' rookie class in Thursday's 12-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

OL Greg Robinson, first round, No. 2 overall: It was a rough night for the offensive line as a whole as Robinson was one of five linemen to play all 63 offensive snaps. But Robinson wasn't really the issue, either. He didn't have his best night but the Rams' struggles to block Arizona often came from center to right tackle. Robinson is still a work in progress but he's proved durable and showed signs of major potential in his rookie season.

DT Aaron Donald, first round, No. 13 overall: The superlatives have almost been exhausted but Donald just keeps on doing his thing. He registered the team's lone sack while playing 54 defensive snaps and six more on special teams. He now has a sack in five consecutive games and has eight for the season. He continues to make a strong case as the league's defensive rookie of the year.

DB Lamarcus Joyner, second round, No. 41 overall: Joyner was a healthy scratch for the third straight week.

RB Tre Mason, third round, No. 75 overall: It was tough sledding for Mason and the Rams' run game against Arizona's stout run defense. Mason was second among Rams running backs with 30 snaps, in part because of his struggles picking up the blitz. When he was on the field, he managed just 33 yards on 13 carries.

S Maurice Alexander, fourth round, No. 110 overall: Alexander continues to work in a special teams only role, playing 22 snaps there. He did not register any statistics in the unofficial pressbox numbers.

CB E.J. Gaines, sixth round, No. 188 overall: Gaines started and played all 68 defensive snaps to go with nine on special teams. He was his usual, solid self in posting seven tackles, third most on the team. He remains one of the best find's of the draft and should be a fixture on this defense for the long term.

C Demetrius Rhaney, seventh round, No. 250 overall: Rhaney is on injured reserve for the season with a knee injury.

Undrafted rookie roundup: Running back Trey Watts played 22 special teams snaps. ... Defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks, tight end Alex Bayer and cornerback Marcus Roberson were pregame inactives.
