It's worth pointing out that the 49ers have lost all of their starters in the secondary outside of Richard Sherman (Colbert, Tartt, Ward, and Witherspoon). They are stout up front, but we handled them well enough the last time we played them (Gurley and Brown combined for 128 yards on 28 carries).

SF's secondary has 2 interceptions for the entire 2018 season.

By comparision, the Bears have 27 interceptions.

I could see Woods and Cooks each gaining +100 yards in this game.

I think if you break it down though with the eye test, they're both poor teams obviously, and Arizona's defense looks alot worse than it is due to having to support a historically bad offense. Rams fans know how that works.

Yep. The AZ offense is the biggest problem the Arizona defense has and that's the way I see it to having "been there done that" with our guys.

Honestly I want to see if C.J. Anderson is the real deal (big ups to our run blocking) or the Cardinals run D is just THAT bad.

Yep that's a good question NJ. Cards run defense is bad, but Anderson is a really good interior zone runner and his power meshes well with this line. I have a feeling our OL is on a bit of a high right now with him running behind them, and as a group they should be able to gash the 9ers heavily on the ground.

I'd like to see a big lead and Goff coming out of the game late 3rd quarter. IMO look for this whiner game to be one of the shortest in memory with both teams featuring lots of runs.

and its possible that Dick Sherman is suspended for this weeks game after throwing a few punches in that fracas with the Bears last week

I would be surprised if he's suspended. An ejection is almost always enough.

Hopefully CJ isn't too sore.

I'd try to ride him this week.

A fresh Gurley for the playoffs sounds like a good thing.

Qb’s are completing 63% of their passes against SF D with a 31-2 TD-INT ratio, and Seattle just busted them up for about 160 yards rushing 2 weeks ago.
Rams should be able to score against them even without Gurley, even if CJ plays remotely well.

I would be most satisfied with Cooks, Woods, Reynolds and Everett each getting 70 yards receiving and Anderson, Kelly getting 80 yards rushing and a TD each. I also want to see a TD in each of our redzone visits.

And of course Donald getting 3.5 sacks (he had 4 @SF in week 7).

If Goff throws for 342+ yards, he’ll set the single season record for the Rams, passing KW’s 4830

Please just sit him , I think they can still win this game without him .

A bye week would be huge for this team and I want to see this defense play one more time before the playoffs too.

Once the rams are up by 30, then just sit everyone!

I'm fine with sitting Todd. He won't get rusty. CJA and Kelly can handle the workload.

I guess I've been too concerned about the bye and second round home game that would go with it...I would have all in on Todd playing if he was healthy...Them C.J. runs like a fucking Rhino chasing a horny lady rhino...I was far more impressed by him than I could have imagined, even though it was the Cards...I feel much better now resting GurleyMan than I would have before Sunday...He seemed so powerful that I think if he gets even an average game from the O line he will do some damage to just about any D...How can you not be thrilled to have this guy as a back up for Todd...

Agreed, however, stick with the 12 Personnel and run it right down their throat. Nick Mullens, will make a mistake and the 49ers played the Bears in the warmth of Santa Clara, not blustery Chicago...But I'm on board, this would be good for the Rams to win against the rival at home, who does play hard, but keep in mind the 49ers lost to the Arizona Cardinals twice.

Yes, they are going to be much more of a challenge than the Cards were. 49ers are 12th in rushing yards and 8th in yards per carry. Their pass defense isn't as good but they've been getting better there. They do play better at home so we have that going for us. But like you said, this game is not a gimme like the last one.

Agreed...but it won't be a blowout for them like it was this time last year..

My guess is that Gurley has either a minor meniscus tear, or a small area of cartilage that needs to get cleaned up. If that’s the case, he won’t be 100% until he’s had a scope procedure in the offseason.

Just speculation on my part (in part based on having had 3 knee procedures myself). Even under this scenario, I bet he’d soldier on and play through it.

My point is— rest may not be enough to make Gurley “fresh and 100%.” But certainly the rest should help.
