Man you people whine a lot.
The only people who could complain might be season ticket holders if they somehow paid for that "home" game,
otherwise who cares?
If Stan makes more money............GOOD for him, this is America and we should look up to people and try to emulate their path.
It'll still be on TV where 90% of us see the team.
Relax!

Will China and the U.S. still have a positive diplomatic international relationship in 2019 ? Politically speaking, the odds on this game taking place seems precarious. jmo.

Payment for being allowed to go back to LA.

Growth, money and the American way. A for profit business they have to develop new markets. There aren't many cities left in the USA that can/will support a NFL team. England is one thing but, China is crazy for the American fan. Games will have to be played at 8 AM China time for a 9 PM New York east coast time and 6 PM LA west coast time.

https://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/time_difference.htm
World Time Difference to China
China is 13 hours ahead of New York, 12 hours ahead of Toronto, and 2 hours behind Melbourne.

Has to hurt the Rams with travel, time changes and prep.

Was the deal for 3 games or for one every year until the rams move in to the new stadium?

Whilst I understand the animosity to the International Series games from fans attending home games we have to remember that the relocation to LA and a temporary stadium means that the Rams MUST give up a home game to the International Series for EVERY SEASON that is played in a temporary stadium.

THAT is the price of relocation.

Having said that I don't see how China works on the time difference and game slots.

Beijing is 12 hours ahead of New York and Sunday game slots are 1300, 1600 and 2030.

To hit any of those game slots the game in Beijing would have to kick off at 0100, 0400 or 0830.

The only real time that would could work is if the game kicked off between 1800 and 2000 in Beijing meaning an 0600 or 0800 game time in New York.

I just don't see China working

PLUS if you look at their stadiums I don't believe they have more than two stadiums that could accommodate an NFL game and neither of them are in Beijing.

The 2017 International Series game the Rams play in London kicks off at 1800 UK time which means 1000 in LA

My desire to win.

Home teams have an advantage, winning nearly 60% of the time.

Even if it were just 51%, I want my NFL team to look at that 1% as an edge toward one more win.

1 win is a BIG deal in the NFL.

100%

I think us UK based fans have taken a bit more notice of the International Series rules than the US home fans as we obviously benefit from being able to see our team in the flesh.

Chargers made their move to LA after the 2017 London games had been announced and the Raiders played in Mexico City in 2016 and will play there again in 2017, not entirely sure if this will count against their future commitment towards their International Series commitments though.

Don't forget that Super Bowl hosts also have to commit a game to the International Series game as well.

Rams are on the hook for the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 seasons plus hosting the Super Bowl in 2022.

So that's four games in total

Nah, it's more money otherwise he wouldn't do it. The NFL didn't demand it. Why would they want one of the crappiest franchises representing them on their 100th anniversary? It's the money.

Agreed, these things never work. People love the NFL but if there's a universal want for a world wide league create one. Stop putting home teams at a strong disadvantage just because there's a little $$$ behind it

I strongly disagree about people loving the NFL. People love the game of football. I think overall people dislike and even loathe what the NFL is and what they do.

Open to the idea if it was a preseason game, never thought I'd see the day where I enjoy the MLB more than the NFL

The NFL is losing fans and other sports are gaining them. They better wake the fuck up.

It is so nice that the Rams are so willing to give up their home games. London, someday Mexico City, Beijing......In fact why not be the Traveling Rams playing in 16 different cities each season?

They can take the field in red white and blue unis as Sweet Georgia Brown plays on the stadium sound system. :)

The actual rule is that any team playing in a temporary stadium has to play an international game as the home team. I read this on PFT some time ago but I'm too lazy to go find the link.

The bastard Chargers announced their move after the schedule had been completed.

Good teams win anyway, my friend

Even the good teams try like hell for home field in the playoffs - for a reason.

The 2011 Giants won the SuperBowl, after making the playoffs at 9-7... One win was the difference between qualifying for the playoffs or not that year.

That same season they won 2 home games, barely. Week 6 they defeated the Bills 27-24... Week 8 defeated the Dolphins 20-17... again, both home games. What if those games were played on a neutral field?

That's how close the margin for error is in this league.

Trust me on this come 2020 when stan land opens the rams will not play an international series as the home team ever again ... no way Stan will give up all that lost revenue concessions parking and whatever he cab squeeze out of it

so for now he he is whoring out the rams to earn favours from the league
