Rams Acquire Safety Barron from Tampa Bay –PD
It was not a blockbuster move by any stretch of the imagination, but the acquisition of Tampa Bay safety Mark Barron by the Rams in exchange for a pair of 2014 draft picks was the “headliner” of Tuesday’s trade deadline day in the NFL.

Rams Add Mark Barron But Where Does he Fit? –ESPN
That the St. Louis Rams made any moves at all before Tuesday’s trade deadline was a bit of a surprise. That they were buyers rather than sellers was even more of a surprise.

Rams Seek Offensive Rhythm –Simmons
For the fourth time this season, the Rams started their game in ideal fashion, putting up a touchdown on their first drive. St. Louis has unquestionably excelled in that area in 2014, as they lead the league with four opening possession touchdowns, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

With injuries piling up, the St. Louis Rams did more roster shuffling than their trade for safety Mark Barron on Tuesday.

St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher watched helplessly as five starters departed his team’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns with injuries. He said at the time he’d never been a part of anything like it.

Rams Blow Out Offers Little Promise for Rest of Season –Karraker
As Rams coach Jeff Fisher said, his team got it “handed to them in all three phases of the game” on Sunday in Kansas City. After using trick plays to beat Seattle last week, the Rams once again played a superior opponent, and both teams proved the opponent’s superiority on Sunday.

Morning Ram-blings: Costly losses
By Nick Wagoner

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The on-field value of injuries at key positions such as quarterback, left tackle, defensive end and receiver can be difficult to measure. But the value in dollars is much easier to measure.

In looking at the St. Louis Rams' injured reserve list less than halfway through the 2014 season, the severity of those injuries is most easily recognized with the use of a dollar sign.

Our friends at overthecap.com offered a closer look at what the Rams have lost and some of the decisions they'll have to make in the upcoming offseason. Along with that, ESPN NFL Insider columnist Mike Sando offered a glimpse at some of the same issues in this Insider column.

Clearly, the Rams could potentially have some major cap space available in the offseason if they part ways or reduce the contracts of players such as Sam Bradford, Jake Long and Scott Wells, among others.

Of course, what they would do with that money remains to be seen. They obviously haven't had much luck with big-money free agent contracts and throwing that money around for more disappointments could eventually cost them some young players who might develop down the line.

We're a long way away from the point where those choices will have to be made, but it's probably safe to assume the Rams have already begun pondering them.
