Morning Ram-blings: Rams talking to Inglewood?
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/13532/morning-ram-blings-rams-talking-to-inglewood

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The developing roller-coaster ride that is the St. Louis Rams' future in St. Louis took another turn over the weekend when reports surfaced that Rams owner Stan Kroenke was going to be speaking with recently re-elected Inglewood (Calif.) mayor James Butts.

That came on the heels of the announcement by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon last week that he'd appointed former Anheuser-Busch president Dave Peacock and local attorney Bob Blitz to lead the charge to keep the NFL in St. Louis.

Of course, that announcement was far more straightforward than the story coming from Inglewood over the weekend. In the initial story, posted at InglewoodToday.com (the site of the local paper), Butts was quoted as saying he would be meeting with the "Rams owner" soon after he'd been re-elected. The link to that story no longer exists, but a new one has gone up in its place without the line about meeting with the Rams owner in the revised quote. St. Louis radio personality Tim McKernan at InsideSTL.com offered screen shots of both the original story and the now changed story.

In any event, CBSSports.com's Jason LaCanfora followed up on the initial report by speaking to Butts via e-mail over the weekend. That report indicated Butts has spoken to three NFL owners about possible relocation over the past three years, and though Butts didn't confirm speaking with Kroenke, LaCanfora reported that league sources told him the Rams and Oakland Raiders are among the teams to speak to Inglewood.

If indeed that's the case, it should come as no surprise that Kroenke has spoken to the mayor of Inglewood. He purchased a 60-acre tract of land there in January and many have since believed the site would be the future home of the Rams if they were to relocate.

Just as with anything else in this situation, there's still a long way to go in determining the Rams' future in St. Louis. But there are plenty of signs that all options are still on the table.
