Strauss: Rams Choose Building Blocks Over Circus –PD
When the smokescreens cleared, the Rams opted Thursday for a road grader over a bandwagon. Given a second shot at booking a carnival, they shored a trench.

Analyzing the Rams’ First-Round Draft Picks –PD
Strengths: Combines excellent size (6-5, 332) and power in a prototypical body for competing on the offensive line in the NFL. Known for his run-blocking, with long arms, good hand placement and the power to drive defenders off the line.

Rams Notes: Rams Opted to Stand Pat With Picks –PD
The big surprise of the 2014 first-round for the Rams was that there were no surprises. Specifically no trades.

Rams Draft OT Robinson, DT Donald –PD
Greg Robinson had an inkling for quite some time that the Rams were interested in him at No. 2 overall in the 2014 NFL draft. But the massive offensive tackle from Auburn was taking nothing for granted.

Rams pick Aaron Donald in 1st –Wagoner
My take: On the surface this looks like an obvious best player available choice but the Rams clearly viewed defensive tackle as more of a need than others after spending much of the pre-draft process scouting the position.

Rams Select Auburn OT Greg Robinson with the No. 2 Overall pick
Robinson (6-foot-5, 332) won’t turn 22 until October after leaving Auburn as a redshirt sophomore. He made 25 starts at left tackle, blocking out the sun for the nation’s top rushing offense

Rams Pick OT Greg Robinson in 1st –Wagoner
The pick: Greg Robinson, offensive tackle, Auburn. My take: This was something of an obvious pick for the Rams, who needed some major reinforcements for the offensive line.

Morning Ram-blings: Standing by Bradford –Wagoner
On Tuesday evening, I wrote a story based on the pre-draft news conference of St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead and coach Jeff Fisher. It’s title was “Rams stand by Bradford, leave wiggle room.”

Splitting Hairs on the Top Tackles –Wagoner
The St. Louis Rams could easily throw a curveball tonight with the No. 2 overall pick or in a trade down from that spot, but for now most signs point to the team using their early selection on one of the draft’s top offensive tackles.
