Morning Ram-blings: Ranking young talent
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/15849/morning-ram-blings-ranking-young-talent

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- For St. Louis Rams fans who might not have appreciated the Pro Football Focus study saying the team is 10 players away from being a Super Bowl contender, ESPN NFL Insider Matt Williamson offered a silver lining earlier this week.

In what's become an annual tradition, Williamson ranked the 32 NFL teams based on their 25-and-under talent. In those rankings, Williamson placed the Rams at No. 3 overall, citing the specific young talent on the defensive line.

The Rams have been one of the youngest teams in the league in each of the three years Jeff Fisher has been head coach. With the many extra draft picks they've accrued in that time, they've remained committed to not only being young but giving many of those young players extensive playing time.

Players like end Robert Quinn, defensive tackle Aaron Donald, safety T.J. McDonald, linebacker Alec Ogletree, offensive tackle Greg Robinson, cornerback E.J. Gaines and running back Tre Mason are just a handful of the key contributors still younger than 25.

Many of those players have either established themselves already or at least flashed promise for the future. Which is why my reaction to the PFF study was that the Rams might not be as far away as the study would indicate. While they still have work to do, many of the "above average" players could already be on the roster but just need a bit more seasoning to reach that level.
