Morning Ram-blings: Day 3 QB options
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/6868/morning-ram-blings-day-3-qb-options

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams are almost certain to spend a draft pick on a quarterback at some point in May's annual selection process.

Based on comments from coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead, that pick will almost certainly not be in the first round. Even the second round might be a bit of a stretch. But after that, it seems like this year's quarterback crop is fair game for the Rams to target.

Plenty of names have and will continue to be floated as possibilities. The Rams want to add a young backup who might also have the potential to provide competition for starter Sam Bradford.

On Tuesday afternoon, Kevin Weidl, one of our draft scouts here at ESPN.com, offered some good insight Insider into a pair of potential prospects who could be in play for the Rams on the draft's third day. In this Insider piece, Weidl breaks down Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and Pittsburgh signal caller Tom Savage.

That isn't to say either are high on the Rams' radar or that they rank above others that are out there. Just some good reading on a couple of potential options.

I.C.Y.M.I.

A roundup of Tuesday's Rams stories appearing on ESPN.com. ... We began the day a little different than normal, taking a look at how the Rams have fared in free agency so far and where they might go from here. ... In the late breakfast edition of the Ram-blings, we explored the value of guarantees in NFL contracts and how they are as closely guarded around the league as ever. ... Next, we got into some math (scary, I know) with a closer look at the contracts signed by Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (found here) and offensive lineman Rodger Saffold (found here).
