Rams Notes: WR Austin Puts up Big Numbers –PD
Now that’s the way to celebrate a homecoming. Rams receiver and kick returner Tavon Austin, who grew up in Baltimore, about 45 minutes from FedEx Field in Landover, Md., put on a show Sunday for the 32 or so family and friends in attendance for the visitors’ 24-0 victory over the Washington Redskins.

Putting Family First is Rams’ Policy –PD
Some things are more important than football — even NFL football. So when defensive end William Hayes lost his grandmother the night before the Rams’ Nov. 30 contest with Oakland, coach Jeff Fisher was more than understanding.

Morning Ram-blings: Rams as spoilers?
By Nick Wagoner

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- In the mathematical sense, the St. Louis Rams are still alive in the hunt for the postseason.

In the realistic sense, the Rams are all but done when it comes to playoff berths. At 6-7, the Rams have three games remaining, including NFC West division contests against Arizona (this week) and Seattle (in Week 17).

Both of those teams remain firmly in the mix for the postseason and the NFC West crown. But neither will be happy to see a Rams team playing as well defensively as any team in the league as they make their final push.

Barry Wilner of the Associated Press wrote on Tuesday that the Rams are the team that nobody wants to play as the season nears a close.

It's hard to argue with that assertion considering how well the Rams are playing right now, especially on defense. They can help ruin Arizona's hopes of nailing down the division and a top 2 seed this week then turn around two weeks later and do the same thing to the Seahawks.

Of more interest for the Rams, though, would be finding a way to get past the seven wins they've posted in each of the past two seasons. And if they could somehow find a way to win out, they could get a winning record for the first time since 2003. It's not a huge step but it would be progress nonetheless.
