Morning Ram-blings: Paying for relocation
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/17571/morning-ram-blings-paying-for-relocation

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- While we are still a long way from having anything official when it comes to the game of musical chairs between Los Angeles, St. Louis, San Diego and Oakland, one thing is certain is that any team that moves to Los Angeles is going to have to cough up a sizable chunk of money to make it happen.

The exact amount remains to be seen but Nick Canepa of the San Diego Union-Tribune offered up some interesting thoughts on the matter in this column at utsandiego.com.

Under Canepa's plan, the teams moving to Los Angeles would pay more than the possible $250-500 million numbers that have been kicked around. In fact, he wants the number to be $1 billion.

But there's a twist. Instead of just divvying up that money amongst the league's current teams, it would be given back to the cities losing teams to build stadiums for expansion franchises.

Of course, as Canepa is quick to point out, his idea is nothing more than pie in the sky and the league would almost never take such a step. But it's an interesting read to consider, nonetheless.
