Morning Ram-blings: Early success?
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/7893/morning-ram-blings-early-success

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- With all of this extra time before the NFL draft, we have even MORE time to discuss the schedule and how it could play out.

Which means more time to guess how games are going to play out between teams that have yet to set their rosters. Exciting, right?

So it is that over at NFL.com, they offered their picks for teams who look poised to have success in the first month of the season. Nestled amongst New England, Carolina and Houston are the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams open the season with a home game against Minnesota followed by a trip to Tampa Bay and another home game against Dallas before a week 4 bye. On paper that doesn't look overly daunting though Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray might have something to say about that after making a career of destroying St. Louis on the ground.

Either way, the Rams would probably be well-served to get off to a hot start with at least two and preferably three victories in September. After the bye, the team will play eight consecutive games against teams with winning records in 2013 with seven games against last year's playoff qualifiers.

As always, take any schedule predictions with the appropriate salt since we haven't had a draft and we don't know what any team looks like but let's be honest: isn't it always a good idea to get off to a hot start?

Ryan McGee offers a strong profile of local product Pierre Desir, a cornerback from Lindenwood, in this week's ESPN the Magazine.

Columnist Kevin Seifert provides a good perspective on the ideas of building through the draft.

At stltoday.com, Jim Thomas continues his draft series by looking at linebackers.

As part of that, Thomas examined Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack.

Stlouisrams.com has an interesting piece on how Quinn spent his draft day.

SportsOnEarth.com's Mike Tanier doesn't think much of the Rams offense.
