Rams May Build Depth on OL in 2018 Offseason

Hold on: The 2014 draft was decent. Yes we missed on Robinson but to grab Donald, Joyner, Gaines, Alexander and Rhaney was not bad.

Sure: Alexander, Rhaney and Gaines are no longer on the roster but we got a decent-at-times-great amount of work out of them and they were not busts.

Even Mason offered a good year to us.

I thought Rhaney and Van Dyk were both strange draft picks as they are more suited for zone and we were playing more man at the time.

Haven't you guys noticed that Snead usually takes every player he thinks he needs in free agency and then turns around and takes the same players in the draft?

Especially last year.

I think it's a great idea to have those veterans in those key positions and not counting on rookies to produce.

It actually takes a lot of pressure off the rookies and gives you a chance to actually develop them out correctly.

Not to mention that if you get an injury at a position that you picked up a expensive free agent at, at least you have a rookie, (hopefully) ready to step in.

Linebacker is the one positionwith Barwin & Sampson , but WR was just a totally overhaul.

He always is looking for depth with udfa with postion of needed Snead & the scouting department Haagen done an excellent job there.

Look at what this regime did this season.
Cutting Case Reynolds,Rhaney, & Kendrick’s was a big start.
Watch a Packers game & was so glad Lance was finally off The Rams roster.

TE was left just for the draft with no veterans, & trading for Watkins one from left field ?

John Johnson was a free pick by Snead & filled depth.The Rams needed to fill both those positions, & did it with rookies.
Wade flat out cut Mo Alexander & Cody Davis was the only veteran that had ever played a safety position? That was not filled by a FA veteran either.

The offensive line was not filled by a draft pick at all. Just 2 3 year draft picks & Saffold ?

The QB position as well , they were all in on Goff .

Why The Rams traded up for Austin & didn’t trade the #2 pick away is beyond me ? If The Rams liked Jake Long so much , why not take the LOT from Michigan, or Zach Martin ?
Trading up for Joyner & over drafting for Mo Alexander. Got lucky to get EJ Gaines & Aaron Donald.

Why Fisher would never move Joyner from the slot covering 6’5 TE’s over the middle is being stubborn.
