I can't say I've watched Blalock much but signing a guy away from that Atlanta oline doesn't exactly sound like stealing from the rich.

Get him signed. Solid starter at LG that's missed 1 game over the past 7 or so seasons. Can be a bridge guy to whatever rookie OL we bring in. We need reliable talent and depth on the OL. He's both.

As long as he doesn't break the bank and isn't figured to be more than a stop gap or spot starter then I'm fine.

I guess because SJ did so well behind that line.

Saw this one coming a mile away when he was cut by Atlanta.

Can't say it doesn't make any sense...but this regime has been going this route with little success. I wish they'd target a younger player.

I think either Wells or Long (or both) is going to be gone. Based on the little info thats out there so far I wouldn't be shocked to see a starting line that looked something like one of the following:

Robinson-Saffold-Wells-Blalock-Rookie

Robinson-Saffold-Jones-Blalock-Long

Pretty sure the Falcons OL sux. When I first saw the name I thought it was a LB're.

Hmm... Davine Joseph part duex come on down. (I'm playing, no idea.)

I remember during the 2011 season, we were looking to pickup either Harvey "that's not fuckin holding" Dahl or Blalock. I'm fine with getting him, he'll be a solid, stopgap LG. One thing's for sure though is that Snead sure loves his Falcons while Fisher loves his Titans.

He was their starting LEFT Guard too. Veteran goes next to Robinson which should help some and Saffold slides east... We'll still need the RT (most likely) and a Center.

I will be very surprised if Wells is back next season and I will also be surprised if Jake Long is back unless he takes a huge pay cut!

Played for OL Coach Paul Boudreau in Atlanta was better with the physical approach as opposed to the zone blocking that the Falcons had switched to. Durable, but so was Wells before he became a Ram, but putting Blalock at LG and Saffold at RG beats the heck out of last season with Joseph at RG.

Blalock would be my #1 target if I were GM. A veteran LG roadgrader to play next to Robinson allowing Saffold to go back to RG where he excelled in 2013.

Am I DREAMING hoping the Rams can sign Blalock, Rodney Hudson and re-sign Joe Barksdale? I would think that would give the Rams a pretty solid OL going into next season (Robinson-Saffold-Hudson-Blalock-Barksdale). But, I am guessing the price tag for that line would be way over the Rams budget! I guess a more realistic goal would be to somehow sign two of those players and draft another offensive lineman in the upcoming draft! But, it is nice to Dream!

Roto refers to Blalock as a "run blocking mauler" that doesn't fit ATL's zone blocking scheme.

One Olineman doesn't make an OLine. Did Joe Thomas suck in Cleveland when their OLine was horrible?

If he's a mauler then he should play RG, yes?

Yes. Is it possible? Sure. Would I recommend it? Not unless Hudson and Barksdale are giving us a discount.
