The Los Angeles Rams move from St. Louis to LA is a lingering story not going away anytime soon, as litigation is due to get under way. http://ramblinfan.com/2017/05/13/los-angeles-rams-in-st-louis/
One Los Angeles Rams story that continues to trudge along is the messy divorce between the city of St. Louis, the Rams, and the National Football League. It’s also a story winding its way into a courtroom.
In a piece filed by Jim Thomas at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, we learn that the the NFL is sending its best and brightest from legal to St. Louis for the breach of contract lawsuit over the relocation of the Rams to Los Angeles.
The Washington-based law firm of Covington & Burling will represent the league and 31 of their 32 teams. The 32nd team, which is the the Rams, is represented by Kirkland & Ellis, headquartered in Chicago.

The suit seeks unspecified damages and restitution of profits. The suit claims that the Rams and the NFL failed to meet relocation guidelines, made intentional false statements, and “unjustly enriched themselves.”

The move from St. Louis to LA has been contentious for Stan Kroenke and his team. The last season in 2015 was one met with attendance issues, signs expressing all matters of discontent with the fan base, and a sense that the move west was a “fait accompli.”

Toss in a losing team nursing what has become a decade of dreadful play, and the wrap up in St. Louis has fostered a lot of ill wil
As for the NFL, they would issue a statement the day the suit was filed saying there was no legitimate basis for the litigation.

Something says the city of St. Louis may have the last word on that one.

Don't care. When you start bringing in lawyers to football I tune out.

Besides, it's obvious the STL local government was, and looks like still are, a bunch of jokers during the whole process. Not saying Stan and Friends are a bunch of angels. Both sides that make decisions really pissed on the fans, causing spats when it really should just be about the team and the game on Sundays.

I have an opinion about who is most right in this matter, but I think it's fair for everyone to get this decided in court. It won't affect current fans of the team, no matter the decision, and Stan can afford any loss (I'll never feel sorry for him no matter what).

The issue is that the NFL relocation committee kept telling St. Louis to do this and do that you are on the right track and when they did do all of that they come out and say that STL didn't meet the guidelines. Whether you're happy they are in LA or not it's clear that the Rams was never staying in STL so for the league to tell the STL to keep spending money on a moot cause that's what this suit is all about. It's the NFL not following their own relocation guidelines. The statements from Jerry Jones From Kroenke From Demoff what Kroenke told Fisher in his interview when he first got hired all of that shows that the Rams no matter what had eyes and plans on going to LA a long time ago

I could care less if St. Louis gets restitution but Stan owes the fans in the area an apology and, for psl owners, cash. Frankly I think he owes all fans who've bought tickets locally cash but that's obviously impossible. I'd be satisfied if they simply apologized for lying to fans and reimbursed PSL owners a couple of years worth of tickets and gave them the right to sell them since, technically, they still own the PSLs that'll transfer to LA. But I doubt either of those things will be satisfied in this specific process. Could care less about Stan or the NFL losing a few dollars.

Ahhhh Cleveland. Whole italian family (100+ people) left Cleveland to move to LA in the 50's (something to do with needing to leave the east coast and make a new start out west... never did get the full, truthful story...)

Just like my famiglia, The RAMS left for Cali too... TWICE.

St Louis made a bad deal from the beginning. In spite of that I would not mind them getting some money from Stan and the NFL. Too little too late with the stadium proposal but, they tried. Seemed like Stan planned to leave for a least a few year and the move was a forgone conclusion. Demoff kept denying the move giving too much false hope to the fans in the Lou. I understand it's the way things are done but the good people of St Louis are still paying off the ED.

So tired of the stupid Pee-ons like Jim Thomas and Bernie with Randy Karraker added to that group as complete jack asses who love to act like little teenagers and keep shit going. It's over, get over it.

Regardless of what happened the lease was either voided or expired. In either case it's those politicians and business people who wrote the clauses for the contract. Don't know why the hate towards Stan or Kevin, do you expect for them not to act in the best interests of the franchise?

I know fans get tied in with emotion but the NFL and all 32 of it's franchises are a business. The biggest sports business in America. This is how they got to this point.

Get over it.

Los Angeles Rams (2016 – Present) 1 Year + 48 Years prior = 49 Total

2016

The Verdict is without much controversy when you look at the Rams longevity of the cities they called home.

Los Angles may not be the original birthright city of the Rams but the total years accumulated in the City of Angles has so much more history compared to the other 2 cities they played in.

The Rams made some unforgettable
precious memories in the other two cities they lived in but there is little doubt that Los Angeles deserves to be called the True Home of the Rams.

I wish we could quit posting this shit because it never fails that people start posting shit that downs St.Louis.

Fact is, this shit was set up since 2012, they were always going to move. They allowed st.louis to continue to spend more and more money, all for not. They put a shit product on the field and expected undying support. Stan Kroeke and the NFL fucked St.Louis and in turn the local fans.

Kroenke and the league both owe an explanation and some form of payback. My fantasy is that the NFL funds a new stadium and gives us an expansion team to support locally but I know that's just a dream.
