I’m a Hokies fan, I would love this. He didn’t test well at the combine but if you look at his tape he really has unique burst for his size. I think with some coaching and motivation from the other DL he could be a really solid piece in the middle of the D. But also I wouldn’t want to use our first rounder on him. He would have to fall to us in the 3rd round

This NT did fall a bit after the combine. He appears to be a early 2nd round selection @ this time. If the Draft does not go the Rams way in the first round Snead could trade out for an additional late second day pick. Then look hard @ this NT. If Payne & Vea (Whom are listed now in the top 10) are gone then Settle is the 3rd best NT in this draft. I would hope that ER Harold Landry or OLG Isaiah Wynn or ILB Rashaan Evans are there @ #23 you take one of them. Find your NT later on.

ILB Rashaan Evans would be a holy terror in this Wade Defense he was born to play for Wade! I know Assistant HC & LB'er coach Joe Barry got to see this LB'er up close @ the combine. He would be a perfect RB smasher @ the Ogletree position. He would sure help out this weak run defense.

They're having dinner with Man-Mountain Settle? Heck, they better get in front of him in the buffet line or he's gonna clean out the brisket and pot roast for sure. At any rate he is an intriguing option for our front wall although I do believe pass rusher remains the main issue for our defense going forward.

They said in the article that he redeemed his poor combine performance with his Pro Day. He sounds like he has definite talent, as long as he can self motivate to train hard and be mindful of his weight. He sounds risky to me in the 1st round from his possible weight control issue...Might be great, but I'd lose my mid if he showed up 30 lbs overweight in the initial strength and conditioning test

Both would be really good picks, but Veta Vea is Bigger and Faster, and won't be there by the time the Rams pick at 23!! I'd settle for Settle!

That said I would prefer OLB Vander Esch or the other kid from Va. Tech. Tremain Edmunds!

Yeah but no way Edmunds makes it out of the top half of the draft. He is a special athlete and still has so much potential.

Out of the two guy's from Va. Tech. I think Settle will go 1st. But we'll see!

Agreed man. Evans gonna be an impact defender for some lucky team and there's no team he fits better than playin for Wade.

I like Settle in round 2 on, so yeah if for whatever reason they drop down from 23 he should be in play. Rams are definitely going to take a DT in this draft. Will try to post some of them up if I find the time, but there's a load of them man.

Even hard core VA Tech fans wouldn't consider Tim Settle a 1st round pick. We need to strongly consider trading back (maybe multiple times). The following 2 trades will give us multiple R2/R3 picks for our middle defense:

Trade 1: R1.23 for R2.37/R3.72
Trade 2: R2.37 for R2.52/R3.88
Keep: R3.87
Use our R6 picks to move up for any or all of these guys is they hit earlier than indicated.

R2.52/R6 - Tim Settle - NT - VT
R3.72/R6 - Duke Ejiofor - OLB - WF
R3.87/R6 - Lorenzo Carter - OLB - GA

I dunno. Settle is a redshirt sophomore, he's only 20 years old. He's a child! How much can he help the Rams in 2018? Being so young I think he will have a lot of work to do in the weight room before lining up against veteran O-linemen. He might be more of a project than we think.

Settle is a good possibility in the trade down scenario. Let's see if they get a NT later in free agency. Lot's of needs still for edge rusher and inside LBer.
