Notable roster cuts:

Aaron Green, Running back - This is only going to get tougher as the preseason moves along. Green has already looked like a back worth keeping. The problem? Chase Reynolds doesn't get cut and he happens to be the best special teams player on the Rams. Not playing last week hurt him but Green figures to play versus the Denver Broncos this week in what could be one of his last chances to impress.

Brian Quick, Wide receiver - Still don't see him making the roster. The emergence of guys like Nelson Spruce and hopefully Duke Williams will be too much for Quick to overcome. Even more notable head coach Jeff Fisher called him out in a press conference saying that he needs to catch the ball. Quick is playing his last two games in a Rams uniform unless he really comes out and gives them a reason to keep him.

Mike Thomas, Wide receiver - Thomas had a couple of drops week one of the preseason and as of right now Nelson Spruce and Paul McRoberts have poured on some pressure for the 6th round pick out of Southern Miss. Thomas didn't do much to help his cause in week two. Spruce has been more noteworthy but McRoberts has been logging some serious snaps in game. We will see if Thomas can bounce back, if not he could be looking at practice squad stint at best.

I really resonate with this latest list, Jake.

Three that you like but I consider iffy?

Chase Reynolds
Eric Kush
Quinton Coples

But I can see where two reasonable people might disagree on all three.

I must say that I dispute that C Reynolds is the best ST player on the Rams. He's still getting by on his reputation. I think that Bradley Marquez has been the best ST player since last year. Especially since Bates is now out of the equation.

I can tell you now if Green balls out tonight it could be all she wrote for Reynolds. Problem is that Green hasn't done enough on special teams. Coples is a mainstay they signed him for three years and he's producing unlike Coty. Kush is very iffy he looked better last week but still having a hard time I see him as more of an offensive guard. Rhaney has lost his pecking with the coaches so I think he could be out. I will really say this, Littleton makes me think of Daren Bates and Ray Ray Armstrong fusing. Bates was great ST but was iffy on defense and Ray Ray had defensive potential and looked like a potential edge rusher. I think Littleton is both. Another thing about him is that he is technically behind everyone because he missed OTAs cause his college still wasnt done. Look at how well he performed vs the Chiefs. Highly impressed with him

IMO spruce needs to come back for game 4 to make it.

Rams cant afford to take the cap hit for cutting coty now. He hasn't been great but I am not putting a ton of stock into the preseason, because if the Rams did they would be cutting all our corners. He is veteran depth that we need because EJ and Tru have never played 16 games and he can play inside and out. IMO he is safe this year even if it just a cap thing, but next year is another story.

Wow, where do I start, ... not many 2'nds, or reserves, helped themselves today. Surprisingly, Spruce helped himself by being under the weather, as after Britt, Austin, Cooper & Kendricks, our WR's dogged it for the most part. LT Williams stank it up, TE's Higbee & Hemmingway dropped passes, Quick, once again, didn't do anything to help himself, and Mike Thomas dropped almost everything coming his way. The 2'nd team OL was penetrated as often as a porn star and our second team defense was mostly doing double duty as a sieve. Joyner was as pathetic as i've ever seen him, even Tru had problems.

Our 1'st team Defense was excellent, and considering our 1'st team OL was facing off against the top NFL defense, they mostly held their own, ... except for Saffold getting beat badly by Von Miller, often. The Rams starting O moved the ball, but could only come away with two field goals. Zuerlein was 3 for 3 today. Being an away game against the leagues Super Bowl winner, and that they kept their 1's on the field longer than the Rams, i'd say we did OK for a pre-season game. Compared to our earlier two games, it was a bit of a slap in the face as we had seen better of our 2's previously, but overall, this outing may help Fisher get down to 75 in a few days.
I'll watch this game again tomorrow before I chart cuts again, but this game was an eye opener, both offering renewed hope, and a few disappointments. jmo.

You hit it on the head. With everything Hemingway was disappointing. Guys who really stood out Matt Longacre who just continues to put pressure on the QB and live in the backfield, Mike Thomas both good and bad. The good with Thomas is that he is getting down on every ST play and even downed one punt at the 1, the bad? Well he's a WR who can't catch the ball at all. Duke Williams isn't worth keeping on the 53-man roster but I would stash him on the PS. Paul McRoberts should take Williams jersey right now he looks like a solid WR I like him alot. Austin Hill needs to play earlier in the game just can't get a read off one target and one catch. WOW the OL when Mannion was trying to win the game was like if we took Davin Joseph of a couple of years ago and cloned him to play every offensive line position. HUMAN TURNSTILES! Williams went from one of the favorites of the coaching staff to getting his pink slip on tuesday.
