IIRC, the Rams have until June 1 to cut Sam or commit to the 13 mill, right?
As for an extension, I dont know how that works. He's owed 13 mill, by adding 2 years without any $$ that would equate to 4.3 mill per. So the 2 year extension at 1 mill per in base salary "plus incentives" would pay him 5+ mill per? Why would he agree to that? Especially if they draft a QB in round 1.
Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
IMO, this may end up being similar to the SJ deal where the Rams will want him back, on their terms, and he may opt out for greener pastures and more guaranteed playing time
