All of those five were on the field playing for the Rams last season. All are under contract with the lone exception of Chris Williams. CW is sure to get courted heavy now!

Now you see why we need a OT like we need an OG. The Org can hope & say that Jake Long is expected in the line up for the first game all day long week long month long as option A ....but you damn sure better have an thought out researched option B plan if he is not!

Ok so this is more of a bode of confidence for Barksdale than it is a statement about the (low) quality of the top o-linemen coming out. I guess I am cool with that. I guess if the consensus is that we have 2 good tackles but the rest of our depth is lacking maybe that is why it makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it!

Well that is the best I can offer up with what the Rams have now and with just one possible UFA signing. So that is the Rams 2014 OL is it not? If you recall four of the five in my current 2014 projected OL were on the field playing against the Seahawks! this is the best the Rams have.

Now do I think we will attempt to add some low cost UFA's yes a few maybe. Would I expect the Ram org. to draft a few more OL'ers than they have in 2012 & 2013 maybe. But I sure can not predict who the Org will draft so I would not insert a Bona fide unknown. Rams neglected to draft OL'ers in the first & second days of the draft two time before.

I do know that Boudreau has been depended on for these past two seasons to put mostly a patchwork OL cadre on the field game day. Overall he has done very well with what was provided.

Not so sure that Joe Barksdale would be inserted in the OLT post from his starting ORT post in place of Jake Long. Yes JB was reserve swing OT to Wayne Hunter in 2012 season and was the swing OT in the first half of the 2013 season but in truth he may be the best Ram offensive Lineman we have and flipping JB would just weaken the ORT post. Chris Williams plays ORT real bad much worse than he plays OLT post.

As far as why I did not insert Barrett Jones into a starting post? Its because he would be the top #6 all important reserve to all five OL positions. The Rams would be forced to keep BJ in this positions out of necessity.

No biggie.. All that means is Cleveland has the right to match any contract offered to him. We wouldn't lose any picks or anything. Only downside for us would be the time and effort committed if Cleveland matches our offer sheet. I say give him a 5 year $43 mill/ $21 mill guaranteed.
