He loves our draft so far. Hope he is a playmaker for us.

This kid has played everywhere in the secondary. Smart and instinctive, he'll be on the field alot. Good K returner too!

From Bud Elliot at SB Nation:

The St. Louis Rams drafted Florida State defensive back Lamarcus Joyner with the 41st pick, in round two. He is the second Seminole to be picked in the 2014 NFL draft.

Out of the famed Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas School, Joyner has been one of the best players in the state of Florida since 2007. The former 5-star was one of Jimbo Fisher's first huge signings, and many elite players followed him to Talahassee. He excelled at both safety and corner for Florida State, and was almost always the fastest player on the field, a true heat-seeking missile despite not always having the best 40-yard dash times. FSU's coaches loved Joyner from the moment they laid eyes on him, and he is an example of how truly special players can overcome their lack of size. Joyner also has the arms of a much taller player.

Probably mentioned elsewhere by now but Fisher said Joyner's primary role will be nickel CB (playing in slot).Unlikely to do much at safety.

Which means McLeod is their safety.

This was an excellent pick all around. Joyner is lightening in the backfield!

I don't know if there is any FS types better than McLeod left in the draft. Could take a couple flyers and see but the learning curve might be too steep to play this year.

How big of a learning curve would it be to draft his college teammate, OLB Telvin Smith, and convert him to Safety? I think it's possible.
He runs a 4.52 at 6'3", 213 lbs.

I'd like to see an upgrade at FS...but you just might see improvement there anyway with better corner play and an even more imposing pass rush.
