With Connor Barwin out due to a forearm injury, Los Angeles has made a roster move to bolster its depth at outside linebacker for the Week 13 matchup with Arizona.

The Rams have promoted outside linebacker Carlos Thompson from their practice squad and waived outside linebacker Ejuan Price.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Thompson signed with the Rams just prior to the start of the offseason program and was on the active roster through training camp. While he was waived when the club reduced its roster to 53 players, Thompson was signed to Los Angeles’ practice squad and has been there ever since.

Head coach Sean McVay said this week Samson Ebukam will start in Barwin's place at outside linebacker. With his promotion, Thompson could be a part of the Rams' defensive rotation and play a role on special teams on Sunday.

Before signing with the Rams, Thompson spent the 2015 season and 2016 offseason program with the Texans. The outside linebacker signed with Houston as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss. Thompson played in two games backing 2015, making a pair of tackles.

A 2017 seventh-round pick out of Pitt, Price appeared in the Week 10 victory over the Texans, seeing action on special teams.

The Rams will travel to Arizona on Saturday afternoon, following the club’s walk-thru.

Meh 7th round pick I don't know that anybody would call a 7th rounder not playing and being on the PS a miss

I was pondering this move...Price has been the back up to top reserve Matt Longacre who is behind Quinn. Price has not done anything when he has been on the field YET. The loss of starting STRONG SIDE Edge Rusher Conner Barwin for a few weeks with games coming up with 2 western division games & NFC's top seated Eagles this is a serious time to loose your team Captain & our best Edge Rusher.

Having an ER who is under 5-11 250 lbs with zero leghth is not good. Plus Price was not used on the SS in pre season either that was where Thompson played. Barwin is 6-5 255 lbs Thompson is 6-5 250 pounds! At least he has the looks of a SS ER'er. Thompson should be good back up for starter Ebukam.

Same here. Liked him in college which he was a nightmare to guard sometimes. Maybe he'll need another year or so to come to blossom. PS i hope.

Thought they might release a CB, but maybe Coleman not totally back and they need the depth, however, I really like what Thompson brings to the table and I believe would have made the squad over Price if not for his injury in preseason.

I wonder if he coyuld convert to an ILb... 5'11 250, is very doable inside and he looks like a guy that could get off blocks.

Price was struggling in the running game. This is likely why we called up Thompson. He offers depth there.
