During my Rams YT downloading faze a few years ago I managed to nab this highlight. Was before my time as a "Ram", was busy collecting Marvel comics before jumping on a couple years later. But I knew (from many years ago research) all about this game from books, research, etc and it's a big one.

1st Rams postseason win since 1951.

Isaiah had arguably the best game of his career.

Rams defense was top 3 at least.... mentioned as one of the best in magazines/publications.

other notes:

Deacon Jones wound up his career on the Redskins during that season. He actually kicked an XP during a late game vs Chicago. (Allen and his ex-Rams!)

Redskins beat the Rams on Monday night a few games earlier. Allen is 2-0 vs Rams on Monday night.

This is the only time the Rams have beaten Allen since he left the Rams. They are 1-3 against him in the aftermath.

RB #44 on the Redskins was not Riggins, who was still with the Jets. Redskins had gotten Moses Denson from the Chiefs and he and Larry Brown were a nice 1-2 punch in their run game. Add Duane Thomas the ex-Cowboy.

Rams' kicker Ray was going through a down season, which ended up being his last. Rams got Dempsey the next year. Their punting game also sucked, ST was not a strength.

I like how right off the bat, the first 2 tackles in the highlight would get flagged today...

Chuck Knox very tight in that game, you could see it, IMO, there was added pressure because of George Allen being the Head Coach on the other sideline and the fact that many felt the Redskins would win because they has just beaten the Rams two weeks previously 23-17.

Knox was a hell of a coach, but after losing to Dallas in 73, seem to try to always play it close to the vest in the playoffs and could never get over the hump. He lost games with the Rams, Bills & Seahawks and IMO, he always had the better team with the Rams.

Chuck Knox , over time, became seriously overly conservative in his play calling, in crunch time it became McCutchen left, Mac right, Mac up the middle, it was nauseating in it's boredom, hence the term "Ground Chuck".

I was at that game at the Memorial Coliseum. I believe it was the Rams first playoff victory in the Super Bowl era. I remember Isiah Robertson intercepting a Sonny Jorgenson pass that put the game on ice for the Rams. I was quite young but it sure was a fun game. LIfe is full of memories and this one was one of the happiest for me. Go Rams. I was upset by today's loss to the NY Jets but I'm confident the Rams will bounce back next Sunday and beat Seattle and take care of Arizona the following week. Just need to make the playoffs.

That's awesome.

Got to love Klein's celebration after the touchdown .... tosses the ball to the ref.
