Rams Org will have 3 DL'ers go in to UFA'cy a total of approx. 11.6 million drops off the cap with ...

William Hayes
Nick Fairley
Eugene Sims

Long is on the books until 2017. Long is due to make $14,250,000 million in 2016 with a dead cap of 2.5 million if released. Long has redone his contract several times at the request of the Ram Org.

I would think that the Org. would want to address the replacements of the three 2016 UFA's with very little attention paid to Chris Long's position in this defense.

Add in the fact that with 3 other very high first round selections contained in the DL (Donald, Brockers & Quinn) remain as starters would figure into the selection of another first rd pick being invested in this already strong DL. DE Oakman is a sure top 15 selection at this point.

Goodell: "With the 1st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the 49ers select defensive end Shawn Oak-"

Oakman: "I'm a Ram."

Goodell: "The Rams select defensive end Shawn Oakman from Baylor."

Guy doesn't really fit in the Chris Long role or the 4-3 in general.

Unless you want to move to a 3-4.

Quinn and Ayers as OLB

Donald and Oakman as DEs

Brockers at NT

Ogletree and Laurinaitis at ILB

That's actually a pretty damn good D, but still, the way our current D is set up is perfect already. No need to mess with it.

Draft a traditional 4-3 DE if we have to. Try to get Joey Bosa, or even a guy like Shilique Calhoun. Just better fits for our team.
