In my eyes this is the most intriguing battle this TC and pre-season due to the talents each contender has to offer. Obviously Nick Foles is going to be the starter but who do you think is going to be the 2nd an 3rd stringers? I hear and read so many differences of opinions here so before TC starts I wanted to hear what ROD Nation thinks about the subject.

Personally I think Keenum will win the backup role and Mannion as defacto will be the #3 QB which leaves Davis odd man out.

Now I've read that a lot of people actually think Mannion can earn the backup role and if that is true then the fireworks and opinions start with who is kept on as a #3.

I've also read from a select few that they think Mannion will be cut or traded because he won't be able to match up with the other two.

Poll will have 2 options to choose your choices. Your thoughts?

I think Mannion should have been left off, we aren't going to cut a 3rd rounder. . . .

But I picked Davis. He has shown what he can do a little bit, and we won a couple games with him.

I really doubt we'd get rid of our 3rd round pick for a pair of UDFAs. They saw something in Mannion and want to keep him for the future. It's possible, but I just can't see it unless he's utter garbage.

That being said, I chose Mannion and Davis, because I think Davis' knowledge of the offense and his comfort with the receivers will give him the advantage if we have to play him, and while Keenum might be the better QB (might, I honestly am not really sure yet), there's no guarantees he performs as well. Ideally your backup QB knows every WR and the system perfectly so he can execute his role, and as of now, Davis has the advantage there. If Keenum can catch up to Davis in those areas though, I see him winning.

Hey, @Corbin, your thread title doesn't match the poll. Did you mean to say backup qb's? Our three qb's this season will be Foles, Mannion, and Keenum.

While I agree with you, if Mannion is especially turrible (in the words of the Great Round Mound of Rebound) he might get cut or placed on the practice squad. If that happens, the third QB may not currently be on the squad.

I figure the "Back-Ups", in order will be Keenum ( Because of his League-wide experience!) And Mannion because he's a 3rd round pick, and Snisher must see something their!!

Foles- Obviously
Keenum- Don' think they traded to get him a second time just to have a competition in camp
Mannion- Too high a pick to cut him loose...

Might see Davis or keenum get traded if another team's vet qb gets hurt

I'm making a case for Case because of his arm, IMO, he edges out Davis because of that fact. I feel strongly that Cignetti will call more deep passes off of play action and he will beat out Davis on his ability to complete those throws, but I would not be shocked if Austin flies high again in preseason either.

It will be interesting to me to see what happens if our Oline can keep the QB's clean. I expect some growing pains but I can't imagine things being much worse than last season when teams knew they could pin their ears back and we couldn't block them.

I say this because Davis actually fired some nice passes with zip when he was able to step into his throws. He also showed some fire on the field and on the sidelines at the beginning of the season before he had the stuffing beat out of him.

What worries me about him is the fumbles (Keenum had the same number BTW) and some really wild throws heaved in desperation.

Big question is, is Keenum any better and can Davis recover the poise he showed early last season? I voted Davis mainly because Keenum is a complete unknown to me.

I agree with it looks like most everybody else.

Foles
Keenum
Mannion

They'll try to trade Davis to recoup the pick they gave up for Keenum.

Voted Kennum Mannion.

But if Foles signs long term Mannion has to wow to stay on roster all year. Any contract Foles signs will be long enough that Mannion might be a FA before Foles,

He's not going to clear waivers, and they aren't going to give up on a 3 rounder that soon, regardless of how bad he is as a rookie.

The poll results speak pretty loudly.
