I just realized almost none of our guys have ever been to the playoffs, let alone a win.
Whitworth has been there but the Bengals lost in the first round every time.
Barwin went with the Eagles, but they also were a first round exit.
Kayvon obviously came from Denver.
And obviously none of the home grown Rams have been.
In fact, McVay doesn't have a playoff win either, does he? I think this is the best season he's ever had too, I don't recall the Redskins ever having this good a record recently.

So is our team really that inexperienced in the playoffs? I kinda like it that way, this team is so young (2nd youngest in the league) and young in all the right places. No matter how this year goes they are getting invaluable clutch experience.

That's why yesterday's game was so beneficial. They played a daunting defense that fed off of their crowd. I don't think we've played against that all year. It was an entirely new atmosphere and I'm glad that we got a taste of it. Maybe that makes home games against new Orleans and Philly and road games against Tennessee and Seattle a little easier.

Neither have NO, Minnesota, and Philly.

With the exception of Drew Brees and the few older vets that dot the rosters, a lot of inexperience.

It's an even playing field.

Every player that ever won a playoff game had a first time. The NFL is the hardest sport to get a playoff win.

Odds of Making Playoffs:

NFL = 37.5%
NBA= 53.3%
MLB= 33.3%
NHL= 51.6%
MLS= 54.5%

Odds of Winning a Playoff Game:

NFL = 18.75%
NBA = 43.6%
MLB = 26.64%
NHL = 42.22%
MLS = 36.33%

The NFL is the 2nd hardest league to make the playoffs and the most difficult to win a playoff game.

Lots of teams in the playoff hunt this year with little or no playoff experience. This concern is often overblown.

How about Phillips?

I'm glad he has as much experience as he does... I remember feeling more comfortable with Vermiel, goinginto the playoffs "virgin".

He'd been there before... all the way up to the Super bowl.

The deeper you go into the playoffs, the more challenges for time and distraction.I was glad he'd been there before, so he could keep the players on point and focused.

Perhaps if the Rams make the playoffs, Phillips becomes that guy.

But, for now? NO ahead... need to play great defense! C'mon SOB!

Over the years, always seems like the best team wins in the playoffs regardless of experience. It's still a football game!

I assume you are specifically referencing the Rams/Pats Superbowl. I'm "still" more upset about that game than anything else. The Vikes loss, no big deal. I'll have forgotten about it by the Saints kickoff.

I tell myself I'll never get over it until the Rams kill that team again in another Superbowl. So, can we not mention that F'd up game; like ever!
