Pharoh Cooper has been getting a lot of good reviews from on lookers at OTA's. I just read an article that compared him to a young Hines Ward. I never knew much about this guy and never seen him play at South Carolina, when we drafted him I had no idea who he was . Watched some YouTube videos and I can tell that he is a baller, he just has it. Not the biggest or fastest guy but he has good hands, and he runs strong for his size. Coaches say he will be a household name soon and I hope so, anyone else have any insight on his potential? I'm pumped to see him and Tavon on the field together.

i think his speed is vastly underrated. he might not have great top end speed but he can reach it much much much faster than most players, which is more important in football because rarely do you run straight for 40+ yards anyway. I think having him and tavon on the field at the same time will open up a lot of things and not allow teams to just focus on tavon for the screens and end arounds

It's OTA's.... Not even TC yet. Let's wait for the season and see how he does before getting overly excited with him and then stating half way through the season " Cooper is disappointing me since he hadn't done X,y, and z!"

Hold the line gentlemen!

I can't wait to see him run a trick play and come out passing. I know it's going to happen at least once this year.

I hope he continues to progress. We are still in shorts

Love him. All I can really say, is that once the ball is in his hands, he flat out outruns dudes. So, he didn't time fast, but he plays really fast, has good hands, and competes for the ball. He was on Game Changers with some other top receivers in this draft, you can probably find it pretty easy.

Can you imagine having to account for TA, PC and Gurley? How will teams try to stack the box to stop Gurley without leaving at least 1 WR damn near uncovered at the line? Who do they dare to beat them Tavon or Pharoh?
The Rams O is beginning to stock explosive players and invested in just the right guy to get the ball in their hands.

Say what you want. I predict he is going to have a real good rookie season.

What is not to like ?? Antonio Brown was drafted in the 6th rd .He was drafted in 4th. Sky is the limit.

This^. - He's always pulling away from guys on film!

All I can really say is Pharoh Cooper 40 time: 4.63 / Jerry Rice 40 time: 4.71

I'll still never believe that....One thing about Jerry, due to his training, he could run all day....every pattern looked the same at the snap. And he could really run...

Pharoh has the strong hands and tough body of the ultimate SLOT wr....It'll be interesting to see what they do with Tavon....I still say, they play the same position, and Pharoh probably plays it a lil better...

I still want to see TA outside more. He has the speed to play opposite of Britt and spread the field.

Pharoh Cooper with a half decent QB in the SEC had over 1300 yards and 11 td in his soph season. AS a junior, SCar was a shidshow of a quitting HC and lousy QB play. Still he had over 1000 yards and 9 td
He was basically a victim of circumstance and we are lucky for it. He played with a good QB and we aren't getting a whiff of him

And you are correct to not believe that myth. Rice actually ran 4.59, not blazing but it wasn't what is widely reported. Rice had functional speed too. Rice responded to the shifting and changing field and the guys on it very quickly.

Plus..........keep in mind 40 times in the 80's were as accurate as a Time Tebow pass. :fuelfire:

They were hand timed, for all we know he could have run 4.4, keep in mind Bo was hand times at 4.12 which is probably not accurate either.

Cooper may be that good or our other wide out cadre are just not that good.

I tend to think its a little of both. Its been a long long long long long long long time since this Rams team hit on a WR in the draft. Cooper looks to finally laid that to rest here early after an outstanding OTA.

It would not bother me at all if the 2016 WR cadre was just about all brand new. I tend to like the way that TA was used over the 2nd half of the season in 2015. I want to see TA used all over the place. I like the three amigos @ RB.....Gurley-Cunningham & Austin.

I watched Cooper play a lot in college as he played against my Bulldawgs every year. I'm shocked he fell to the 4th Round. The guy was a playmaker on a pathetic South Carolina offense. He's got strong hands, fights for contested catches, runs good routes, and has a chip on his shoulder from being underrated coming out of high school. He reminds me a lot of Steve Smith Sr. If he can have anywhere close to the career Smith has had we have gotten a massive steal.

That's a great comparison and I really hope your right. I love his hands and when he catches the ball he plays more like a RB than receiver. He's very physical and strong so in the slot he would create a lot of problems for a defense. Somebody mentioned he played QB before so maybe that gives him an advantage in picking up the offensive playbook. I really can't wait to see him in preseason.

I still cannot believe Pharoh lasted until the 4th round. We will know with all these guys - Higbee too- what we have, in a few months.

I agree. Or Anquan Boldin. He is a cross between Smith and Boldin.
