It's looking like Percy Harvin's season with the Seattle Seahawks never will get off the ground.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay First" that it's doubtful Harvin will play any time soon and it's looking like he'll end the year on injured reserve, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the injuries.

Harvin's hip still is sore and hasn't improved.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said last week the team could move Harvin to the IR. The team faces the roster decision next week.

Even if Seattle holds out hope -- and doesn't shut down Harvin -- it's doubtful the receiver plays again this season, according to Rapoport.

Props to Softli. He said Harvin was done when he had the hip surgery.

When you cut into the hip, the guy is done for the year.

The question is whether Harvin will ever be any good again? Will he ever get back to his former self or will he be a huge bust of a trade? Seattle's WR's corp is not good. If he ever gets back, I'd hate to see what Wilson could do with someone that can actually play at receiver.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/201...ttle-seahawks-avoided-injured-reserve-workout

A throwing session Percy Harvin had with quarterback Russell Wilson on Monday, which went extremely well, helped persuade Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll not to place the wide receiver on season-ending injured reserve, league sources said.

Sources said Harvin, who has played in just one game this season following offseason hip surgery, looked "amazing" during the session and that the Seahawks believe it is possible he will play next week when the team opens the postseason.

The plan is to have Harvin rejoin practice Thursday.

One Seahawks player told ESPN that Harvin seemed more optimistic than he had been in quite a while.

"I think he physically feels good, which affects his attitude," the player said.

Harvin declared that it was "go time once again" through his Twitter account Monday night and followed that up with a tweet where he vowed to prove his doubters wrong.

Harvin, who signed a $67 million, six-year deal with Seattle in March, had surgery Aug. 1 to repair a torn labrum. He has not played again since returning six weeks ago because of soreness and inflammation in his hip.

Carroll had been pessimistic about Harvin's status during his radio show Monday morning, but by the afternoon, after watching Harvin catch passes from Wilson, he had changed his stance.

"It will be a great thing for him [if he plays]," Carroll said. "This guy is a true competitor. To his credit, he has not given up on it. He's at a place where he has a chance. We'll see what happens."

ESPN.com Seahawks reporter Terry Blount contributed to this report.
