INDIANAPOLIS -- Paxton Lynch had expected to meet with the media on Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine, but a lengthier-than-normal medical exam forced him to push his session with reporters back a day.

The Memphis star is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft, and with a draft billing like that comes especially thorough vetting from NFL clubs -- including medical vetting.

"I had an issue with my left knee and my right knee, and an issue with my AC joint. When I hurt my AC joint back in my redshirt sophomore year, against Cincinnati I didn't realize ... they said I had a small fracture in my clavicle," Lynch said on Friday. "That popped up on the X-ray, but it was healed. There were just some pieces of bone floating around in there. So it spooked a team or two I think. They requested the MRIs and all that."

Lynch isn't spooked, though.

The former Tigers star said he's fully healthy as he prepares to compete with other top quarterbacks such as Cal's Jared Goff and NDSU's Carson Wentz on Saturday when quarterbacks do their on-field drills at the combine.

"I didn't miss a game or a practice or a single throw because of it. None of those injuries bother me today," Lynch said. "I'm 100 percent, so I'm more than willing to do whatever they need me to do."

Translation: Lynch is ready and excited to have his throws judged side by side with any quarterback prospect on hand in Indianapolis. And if he throws on Saturday as well as he did at Memphis last fall, a two-year-old injury might be the last thing on the minds of NFL scouts when he leaves Indianapolis.

I gotta think his workout tomorrow will settle any concerns. But yeah, the more teams that are spooked the better.

One note re: Lynch also... The Rams don't seem to be averse to losing a year on a player for injury as they were ready to write off 2015 with Gurley due to his ceiling. So I gotta think they'd do the same for Lynch where they'd be willing to accept a redshirt year for him to learn the offense. By this time tomorrow I gotta think Lynch is cemented as a top ten prospect.

Ya, it's looking more and more like Wentz, Goff & Lynch will be top 10 picks. If I were a betting man I would think Lynch is the QB who ends up in Horns of the "Top 3". Not sure Rams will pay the heavy price to land the other 2. Though it's still early in the process. I just think Rams will value the day 2 picks as gold in this draft.

Q: I wonder if we could say move up to Ravens with flipping our 1st and giving up 2017 1st while holding onto both 2nds. I think I rather do that W/ how the value board appears to be stacked currently. Front 7 etc

That is my preference too. Rams can get a WR or TE who can help them this season, or a DL who has round 1 value with both those round 2 picks. Since winning this season is paramount I'd be very shrewd in dealing those two second round picks if I were Fish/Snead. I might part with one of them but only as part of a package to move up for a QB.
