Patriots cut Bradley Fletcher, call up Brandon King
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 10, 2015

The Patriots have made a change in the secondary.

Veteran Bradley Fletcher was released today, while Brandon King was signed from the practice squad to the 53-player roster.

King was signed this year as an undrafted rookie out of Auburn and has been on the practice squad all season after going through training camp and the preseason in New England.

Fletcher signed as a free agent this year after spending the last two years as a starter for the Eagles. He was previously a starter for the Rams and could be a good fit somewhere, but he wasn’t a good fit in Bill Belichick’s defense.

I liked Fletch a lot, but realized soon after he left that I didn't really miss him.

Hope he finds work somewhere

I remember the fit everyone threw when they thought he was a HUGE reach in the 3rd round that year.

Him and JL are the only 2 to do much of anything from that draft class

Too many penalties for my liking at least I remember that when he played for the Rams, in fact, when the Rams played the Patriots Fletcher was called for like 6 penalties of holding or PI. Now I realize playing the Patriots most of them were not penalties, but Fisher lost faith in him after that and his fate was sealed.

He didn't fit the defense after Spags left and he always was too grabby. Talented guy but after he tore his ACL the second time (different knees), he didn't look nearly as good.

He's good enough to latch on somewhere.

Didn't take long for Belichick to see through his BS did it? #accountability.

The original knee injury early in his Ram career robbed him of the needed speed to be a decent starter in the NFL. He became a expert on how to hold & grab & not get flagged for it.

This is spot on. He actually was a surprising success with Spagnoulo's Defense in his first year.

He was a solid player at one point and just tanked later on. I remember thinking we made a mistake when we cut him. Nope.

He sounds like the ideal player for Bilicheat's system!
