They probably have a copy by now...

Kyle Shanahan’s game plan for Super Bowl LI briefly ended up slung over the shoulder of a reporter in a mistaken swap of backpacks during Monday night’s opening media sessions in Houston.

Via Jarrett Bell of the USA Today, Shanahan’s backpack was accidentally grabbed by Art Spander of the San Francisco Examiner as Shanahan was being interviewed. Spander had left his own backpack in the area where Shanahan was speaking with reporters.

Upon realizing his bag had gone missing, Shanahan remained behind for a half hour following the Falcons’ media session Monday night as he frantically tried to find his lost bag.

“That would have been bad,” Shanahan said in a text, via Bell.

Ultimately, Spander was notified that he had grabbed the wrong backpack and returned it to Shanahan.

.

Does Shanahan realise he is playing the cheats this week? That was rather lax of him with the security of the gameplan. Unless he left a fake gameplan in the bag hoping the cheats would bite.

What would be bad Kyle (beyond the obvious) is if you used that game plan in the SB. Cuz I'm sure it wasn't copied while it was missing. Y'know... I always mistake my backpack for someone else's. Doesn't everyone?

If it was planned he could have photographed most if not all of it, in that time. I doubt it was the400 page variety if it was the game plan for one game. Unless the backpacks were identical, how do you make that mistake?

The PATRIOTS probably had a couple of copiers in a room with staffers there ready to print.

click video start on smart phone and turn pages. Entire playbook copied in minutes. Paying people to capture plays on video. It's Bill's SuperBowl tradition.

That's being a little too casual with something very important, Kyle.

No wonder we passed on Kyle with a quickness. Some say it was his arrogance... no... it was his dumbass-ness.

Talk about a child like move.

That would actually be hilarious.

I imagine something like this with Shanahan bending over in front of Bill Belichek with his fake game plan hanging out of his pocket.

Patriots cheating again?!?!?!

Did they really ever stop? Do they even know how not to cheat? How can you possibly be considered a "coaching genius" if you have to resort illegal tactics? How can the idiotic media stooges claim that you "out-coached" Mike Martz if you had to steal, study, and prepare for his brand new plays before the 1999 Super Bowl? What's the point of having a "successful" organization if every single thing you do is eternally married to an asterisk?

Exactly my thoughts. You bring your entire gameplan for beating the Patriots defense to a media session... in a backpack?!

It's like he's not familiar with Belichick at all.

I'd love to see how "similar" the 2 packs look. If I was kyle, my pack would have been full of a fake gameplan so that WHEN they cheated, that's what they'd get.
