Makes perfect sense. Truth be told; I'd prefer Flynn over Brady Quinn here in St. Louis.

Much-traveled quarterback Matt Flynn could rejoin his former team. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweeted that a source said the Packers plan to work out Flynn at some point.

The Packers are in the market for a quarterback familiar with their system after losing starter Aaron Rodgers to a collarbone injury for about three weeks or more on Monday night.

Flynn cleared waivers Wednesday after being released by the Buffalo Bills on Monday after the team reactivated starter E.J. Manuel, who had been out with a knee injury. The Raiders also released Flynn earlier this season after he lost the starting job to Terrelle Pryor.

The Seahawks traded Flynn to the Raiders for two draft picks a year after signing him to a starter’s three-year, $26 million contract. Flynn had success in limited action as Rodgers’ backup in Green Bay and was believed to be looking for a chance to start.

But when rookie Russell Wilson won the quarterback competition during training camp and had a stellar first season, Flynn became expendable.
