It is great reading that Rookie David Edwards had a pretty promising game today and hopefully he will continue to improve and end up a quality offensive lineman for the Rams! Just curious if there are any updates and/or opinions on the other Rookie Offensive Lineman Bobby Evans who I THINK was actually drafted before Edwards. It would be fantastic if both these Rookies could end up being starters (GOOD/TOUGH/QUALITY STARTERS!!!) for the Rams!

Yes, Evans was taken in the third. Edwards fell to the 5th after playing through an injury most of his senior season - before that many projected him as a reasonably high 2nd rounder.

Evans has been a disappointment. It is early, and he could very well have the light upstairs come on, but I would not expect him to have an impact this season. He needs to work hard - both in the weight room and in scrimmages - and improve, so the Rams won't draft a guy to replace him fairly high next draft - at least so that they don't sign/draft a guy to slot in front of him.

I’ve been high on Edwards since we picked him up and seen great things with him.

Honestly Evans seems like he is going need to a redshirt year at the very least. His technique in college had a lot to be desired and also his strength and NFL knowledge could use a boost. I wouldn’t hold out hope for him doing something this season.

He looked terrible in the preseason but he definitely has talent. Hope he can get it together because we could really use him

It just seems like Evans is destined to end up at Guard IMO. The two things that jumped to me were his ability to pull and his size. He's only 6'3 and I don't think he has freakish arm length or the foot speed to contain edge rushers at the pro level. If he could find a his groove, he has a chance to fight for a spot at Guard next year with Blythe being in a contract year.

Not exactly what I would refer to as a ringing endorsement.

Bobby Evans is built like a OG. He's 6'4" 312 lbs with 34.75" arms, giving him excellent play radius. He's never played OG so give him this year and next OTAs and TC to learn and practice the position and I think he will be a good OG. I still think he ends up at LG with Havenstein or Brewer at RG. Chandler Brewer is also built like a OG at 6'6", 320 lbs, with 34.25" arms.

I still think Edwards will end up at RT with Noteboom at LT.
Ram 2020 o-line might look like:

LT Noteboom
LG Evans
C Allen
RG Havenstein or Corbett
RT Edwards

I think there is a wildcard in the mix next year with Chandler Brewer. This guy is big but he's got good feet. Good enough to play RT if he as to. That's why he's the perfect swing OG because unlike Demby, Brewer has played both OG and OT in college.

That's why ultimately I'm not concerned about the O-line long term. They have talent already on the team. They simply need to sort things out and see how all the pieces fit.

This season I think they need to make some serious o-line changes during the bye. Not only in the blocking scheme but in personnel. After the bye they need to make a serious run and they can't do it with a struggling right side. Even if it means leaving Edwards at LG for now, they need to move Havenstein to RG and Edwards to RT. They have Corbett and Evans to work out and see who fits best at LG.
