The Texans are adding an edge rusher off of the Super Bowl champions.

According to multiple reports, Houston has agreed to sign Ogbonnia Okoronkwo on a one-year deal.

A Rams fifth-round pick in 2018, Okoronkwo missed his rookie season due to a foot injury. But he appeared in 33 games over the last three seasons, recording a total of 4.5 sacks, five tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, and a pair of forced fumbles.

In six postseason games over the last two years, Okoronkwo also recorded a one pass defensed and three QB hits.

Eh just decent depth. Never lived up to the hype imo. Everyone kept saying he has so much potential but I just never saw it

Some dialogue five minutes ago from the XXXIVwin household:

34: "Hey honey, can I torture you with a Rams quiz for a minute?"
Mrs 34: "Sure."
34: "Pisa...."
Mrs 34: "Tinoisamoa!!"
34: "Brandon...."
Mrs. 34: "Manumaleuna!!"
34: "Ogbannia..."
Mrs. 34: "Oh damn, I can never remember this one... is it Oronko?"
34: "Close! It's Okoronkwo."

Ogbannia, we'll miss you....

Obo has a nice speed element to his pass rush. It’s a good change of pace to add on certain downs. He may have been told that the Rams were not going to be able to offer him a contract of any significance since they were scraping an offer together to give Miller.

Obo was a popular guy in the clubhouse.

If I told my wife "Pisa..." she'd be like "We're going to Italy?!"

I think Okoronkwo made a smart decision to take a one year deal with a team that he may get significant snaps.

I like his overall game, including special teams, but I’m not sure if he’s an NFL starter or a versatile, quality reserve.

Hope he has a healthy season, and shows it’s the former.

I was hoping we resign him as he has talent and is a good pass rusher who could break out in the right system

What was the contract do we know?

I sure hope we sign Von or suddenly the cupboard looks kinda bear

Obo had the injury setbacks early on. He was showing some solid rotational skills. He seemed to get good pressure on the QB. He is still young going on 27 years old and can still develop into deserving more playing time. FWIW. High 79.2 PFF grade.

Was always a big obo fan, but his constant injuries kept him from developing and he got lost in rotation. Hope he has a great career over in texas.
