The difference between Natson and the worst punt returner in the league with at least 10 punt returns (Jesus Wilson) is basically 10 yards per game (same number of returns, but Wilson has fewer fair catches). Wilson actually has playing time as a receiver, though, so has more roster value.

A guy who is NOT a difference making returner needs to have value elsewhere on the team too. Natson doesn't. Webster might, and the Rams should see if he can fill the punt returner role as well as being a useful backup.
Ehh.
He is buried on the depth chart at WR effectively have no value there either at this point.

If he's active because he is returning punts, he is a WR ding or two away from playing. If Natson is returning punts, then the Rams are a WR ding or two away from going with two TE sets.

Not really.
Natson can play WR as well.
The value of either as a WR is over stated at this point.

Natson has had - what? 22 games active as a Ram, with zero targets as a receiver? Including games where receivers went out with injuries or were just inactive late in the season.

I think it's safe to say that the Rams do not actually view him as a viable WR for them. Webster at least might have value. He's certainly taller than Natson. He might or not become a viable WR backup for the Rams, but after 22 games active as a PR, numerous injuries at WR, but zero targets it's painfully obvious that Natson is not viewed as a viable WR backup. The Rams need a PR who can be a serious backup in case of WR injuries. By all their actions, it's obvious that the Rams don't view Natson as one.

I agree he’s not and Webster was on the practice squad.
He may turn out to be good or he may be the #6 in Washington in the near future.
Natson has been contributing , Webster has not.
Neither had done enough as a receiver to warrant being on for field. So it goes.
To your point however Webster was brought up because someone was trying to sign him so the team values him enough to want to hang onto to him.
I would like to see Thomas and Webster get a chance with Cooks our for an extended time and Reynolds not doing much so far.

Yeah, Webster's far from a sure thing. It's just that by now we have a good idea about Natson. He's a solid but not exceptional punt returner. He's definitely not an exceptional kick returner, but not a disaster, but likely replaceable enough. In two seasons as a Ram, he has shown too little to get playing time at WR, even with others' injuries.

Webster might turn out to be enough below Natson as a returner, and a non-factor at receiver, that he isn't the answer either. But unless he has a serious problem catching punts I don't see him as hurting the Rams relative to Natson, and possibly could be an improvement at returning punts, kickoffs, and at WR. The Rams need to find out during game situations - especially with Cooks out, as you pointed out. It is entirely possible that overall he is better than Natson, and if not the Rams will need to pick up a versatile returner in the offseason.

Pharaoh Cooper caught a TD pass today.
I’m posting this because I’m out of ideas for this thread.

Webster looked like he was damn near trying to catch every punt that was kicked. I wanna see if this dude can beat some people over the top. We know hes got the hands.

Hell of a night for Webster. Going to be interesting what the roster moves are this week.

He looked like he was shot out of a cannon the way he was getting down the field so fast to cover punts. Had trouble locating one but hopefully with some more experience he'll be downing the ball inside the opponents 5 yard line

Man he's fast I really want to see him in for Cooks at some point to see if he can potentially be Cooks future replacement.
