I honestly don't think we are dirty enough. If you know you are going to take the penalty go for the injury.

Aw, bein' a dick ain't so bad. See, there's three kind o' people: dicks, pussies and a-holes. Pussies think everyone can get along and dicks just wanna freak all the time without thinkin' it through. But then you got your a-holes, Chuck. All the a-holes want is to crap all over everything. So pussies may get mad at dicks once in awhile, cuz...pussies get freaked by dicks. But dicks also freak a-holes, Chuck. And if they didn't freak the a-holes, you know what you'd get? You'd get you dick and your pussy all covered in crap.

I'm not sure what that had to do with this thread, but this thread needed more cowbell in the form of F Yeah, Team America.

On another note, I'm more concerned about our own sports writers than what other fans think of us. Seems like everyone except Shane (and Burwell, fate rest his soul) is trying to be the snarkiest of all. Wagoner, Thomas, Gordon, Miklasz, van Bibber, every fucking one of them, with their fucking snarky comments. Thomas with his cute little "Rams best hits are out-of-bounds. Way out-of-bounds." Wagoner with his constant bullshit articles. Gordon, whom I've never seen write a positive article in his life. Miklasz, who can dish out the dirt, but can't fucking take it himself. RvB with his constant douche-baggery. If I hear one more snarky comment, if I see one more snarky article, I'm going to go completely ape-shit on someone.

I have no problem with the Rams being tough--of having a reputation of guys that will hit you in the mouth(if you want to call that dirty--so be it)but when that becomes more important than keeping their heads in the game and playing solid football I have a problem. To me--their heads were NOT in that game. It became more about taking shots or "blowing someone up" or fighting, than on actually playing the game.

The Giants got in THEIR heads.

Oh--the Giants did that crap as well---but they didn't forget to execute on the field.

THAT'S what bothers me.

Look--when you bring in Greg Williams a reputation is going to settle over you whether deserved or not----and you'll get more unfair penalties. That comes with it. But you had better be able to separate that stuff from the ability to keep your head in the game and play solid football.

I don't think the Rams did that yesterday--not when you give up over 500 yards of offense.

There are games--when their heads are in it--that this defense looks unbeatable.

In this sort of game they can't communicate, they take out their own players, they can't stop the opposition and they decide to win the battle of words and fists.

If the Rams were kicking their ass on the field the announcer might have still called them out (whether fair or not) for dirty play--but people would be talking about how they were kicking the Giant's ass on the field. That would have been what mattered.

I don't think it was their greatest moment and I could care less about some homer Giant's announcers and what they say or think about the Rams.

I do care about where the Ram's priorities are as a team and HOW they execute on the field.

If they put it together on the field you'll still have people calling them "dicks" but they'll be "dicks" that get respect when they walk onto the field because the bottom line is that they come to play--not "dicks" who can't compete, who become more interested in slugfests.

I want them to be the winning "dicks".

I'd rather have us earn the label of being dirty. McLeod should've taken the killshot on Beckham. They threw a flag anyway, so why not level the motherfreaker?

They did pick up that flag though. Refs made the right call.

Jeff Fisher teams play on the edge and will always have a label of dirty or at least discussions will tilt that way, which of course is great because we are dictating play and being physical.

Anyone who watched yesterday may think we are dirty based on what looked like we targeted a player who ultimately burned us.

I havent watched the game yet, so can't rightly offer my opinion. But I will say that from my years of watching football, even the slightest perception of dirty play from opposing players, coaches or even game announcers spreads like wild fire and always, always leads to bad calls by referees, since they are watching more intently for anything that could be considered dirty. The Rams at this stage already have way too many penalties a game, and I hate to see what it's going to be like if this "reputation" continues

Without my biased rose-colored glasses on, if I only saw the game last might, i would say the same thing about the Rams..They took a couple (at least)of cheap shots that drew flags...Stupid penalties...That's been the rep of Fisher teams through the years, but it's not very smart...It's good to play hard and with an attitude, but it's stupid to cross the line and cost the team a bunch of yards...I couldn't care less about the perception of other fans though...

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Post of the day.

It's one thing to be tough, physical, intimidating, but you have to be smart about doing it. All too often, the Rams just don't exhibit the smart part of the equation.

Sims, as a b/u DE an.d leading the league in roughing the passer penalties is a perfect example. Just freakin' stupid.

Because we're not pussies.

Now there's something to hang your hat on. Yippee-ky-yay.

If not being pussies is the goal, then this team gets an A+. If playing smart, physically intimidating football is the goal, then the Rams fall short way too often.

If I were an opposing coach, I'd tell my team to taunt the Rams D at every opportunity because it gets in their head every freakin' time. They may not be pussies, but they're soft in the head.

If your a Rams fan you don't give a Rat's ass what anybody else says because your skin is already tough. With the decade before the 1999 Superbowl season we were the second worst team to the Bengals in that period. Currently, in the last decade we have been the losingest franchise and if your still a RAMS fan you already have tough skin and Fuck the world attitude! Part of why I love my team because it matches my attitude. If you have a problem with us playing odd school smash mouth football you should probably go cheer the cheating ass Patsies or 'America's team'.

And if you think 'playing with an attitude' is going to lead you out of being a losing team, you're going to be waiting a long time.

Playing tough aggressive football and playing smart football are no mutually exclusive ideas. The Rams are good at the former, but sorely lacking in the latter.

Hey Corbin, come out of your cave. This is almost 2015. Playing tough physical football is always a good thing. Having a Neanderthal head to go with it is SO yesterday's news.

Reading the comments on NFL.com about the Rams fight is upsetting. There are tons of comments saying the Rams players are thugs and dirty players. It is pretty upsetting and annoying. Josh Brown kicked our players in the head with his cleats, and Tavon Austin got a cheap shot out of bounds just like Odell Beckham Jr. I don't understand why the Rams players have so much hate on them from the general public.
The following "Fab Four" Quotes Answer all questions and say all that really needs be said!!(y)(y)(y)(y)

Because we're not pussies.

Anybody actually watching the game was probably heavily influenced by what that Giants dickriding homer Thom Brennanman was saying. He kept going on and on about how dirty the Rams were, most of his rant starting ironically right after a flag that got picked up because there was no foul on the play. Yet somehow no mention of Josh Brown kicking a player in the face, the two giants players that got ejected for fighting, the late hit on Tavon, or the OBJ taunting that started it all.

Would you rather be called dirty -- or lambs?
That is a rhetorical question, right!?!:) .......I just want to add my own personal "FUCK UM" for our critics! :D

The fucking hack turd nugget hates all things St. Louis because he's a bitchy little punk with an inferiority complex. Thom Brennaman is a dick announcer and honestly the most irritating little girl in the entire fucking field of broadcast sports. Yea, even more than Berman.

This is nothing new. The St. Louis Cardinals take the Reds to the woodshed year in and year out. And this dick has to watch it week in and week out. You can hear it in his voice how much he hates the Cardinals success.

That, unfortunately and for some mystifying reason, went on to the Rams.
