RhodyRams asking and answering his own questions:
why doesnt AB step in and buy the naming rights to the stadium. They are located in STL anyway and are "proud sponsors of the NFL and The Super Bowl"
You can't be a sponsor of the whole NFL and the SB and also be a sponsor of one of the teams.

Shouldn't this thread get locked? If it doesn't then there is clearly favoritism on this subject. Sigh.

It will if it turns into a St. Louis vs. LA argument. There's been no talk of that so far. Why would that be favoritism? Frankly I'm getting real tired of "the mods aren't being fair" or "they have an agenda" bs that's been circulating here over the last few days.

My guess would be that any LA football threads get locked, even if they're just talking about LA getting a team, and not the Rams. I was under the impression that unless there was real news any stadium discussion was not to be allowed. There has been movement for an LA team by both the city and the NFL, which hasn't been posted here probably due to the assumption it would be locked. The article isn't anything more than things that have been locked before. It would seem there is a slight double standard, even though its probably unintentional. From what seemed to be a clear rule, there's been exceptions that have muddied things up. As for the fairness or agenda, I must have missed that issue, so I won't comment.

Let's just say we're being a bit more lenient about this topic to see what will happen. As mentioned earlier, if bad vibes happen in this thread it too will be locked. We're trying to prevent members from being at each other's throats, which seems to happen when this topic gets discussed. If there seems to be "a slight double standard" then I apologize.

Exactly what coconuts said. Any thread about LA gets locked immediately without discussion yet here we are at page 4.

I listened to it at work today. Nothing too major, other than Dave Peacock's name. Upon doing some research, that name being involved is a positive for the Rams staying (which is my preference).

Not speaking for the Mods or mgmt or anybody here(because i am neither).

The Rams are in St Louis and have been there for 20 years. That means....wait for it...the Rams haven't been in LA for 20 years.

I have never lived in LA or St Louis. I myself(like many of you)became a fan while the team was in So Cal.
Whats best for the Rams is stability...and that means staying and playing in St Louis. Not relocating to LA, Charlotte, Mesa AZ(where i live), Toronto Canada, London, Sydney Australia or anywhere else.

If old school die hard Rams fans in LA(and i genuinely salute you for sticking with the franchise) can't understand why it's best for the Rams to remain in St Louis, and why it's best to keep that inevitably cancerous talk out of St Louis Rams message boards then i don't know what to tell you. Pretty simple.

There is no double standard. Wishing, wanting, advocating, debating, arguing for the St Louis Rams to go back to LA on THIS BOARD is like discussing an ex-wife in the presence of your current wife. Nothing good comes of it. It's disrespectful, so don't do it.

Flame me all you want, but back off of the Mods of this site.

Because that is speculation that leads to flame wars. This is something that actually happened.

one of the reasons I would assume is whenever there is mention of LA getting a team, it ALWAYS turns into a debate about which city deserves the Rams more, which city has the batter fans, which city supports the team better blah blah blah. I have seen this happen on 3 other Rams forums on a regular basis and I , for one, am glad the mods here have decided to not let that happen.

This thread has absolutly nothing to do with LA at this point in time. This is all about the city of St. Louis and the honorable Gov J Nixon annoucing the steps that he is taking to procure a new stadium for OUR BELOVED RAMS

How is this any different from say the Farmers group in LA getting people together to try to get an NFL team? That's not speculation that's also something that actually happening.

I get that, I don't really have an issue either way since I don't really care what they do with the team or where they play. Just trying to offer an outside observation on why there may be confusion.

Because STL has a team located there now, and LA is trying to get a team

Believe me I hate those flame wars about LA vs STL. I really don't care where they play as long as they don't move out of country or change their name. I was only pointing out that the mods said that any talk about a Rams relocating or staying would be locked no matter what. So I was confused as to why this has 4 pages and was not locked.

Because you're not talking about just getting an NFL team as you put it. It is blatantly disingenuous to allude otherwise.
I'm guessing there are a few hundred other message boards or places on the internet where LA getting an NFL team that may or may not wear The Horns is being discussed. Somewhere that St Louis Rams fans don't have to read about it.

Again, i understand where this comes from @Young Ram. If i was to lose the Phoenix Suns and they were to move to Las Vegas for example, i would want them back too...but it would be disrespectful of me to continuously post, debate, argue and advocate a move back to Phx on a Vegas message board to fans that had embraced that very same team for the last two decades.

Please read the bold part. That was my only point in this whole thread. Thanks.

It'd probably be an issue but traffic is bad in the city too so I'm not sure on that part. If it'll fit in the city with plenty of room for the parking and tailgating, I'm fine with it but I don't want the parking to be all over the place like it is now and I dont want it to be scrunched up so people can't do their thing.
Definitely agree with that. I think the biggest issue isn't the stadium it's everything else that kroneke wants. Like the Bottle district right next to the dome. Stan wants all that land to use and develop on his own. And I think the city want that land and use the parking as revenue for the city
