My fellow Rams Fans.. A great victory yet... Do you all like this site?

How many of you like this forum/site? I look to my right and see not even a 50% rate of donations for this month. I'll be the first to tell you all this site doesn't even pay for itself. There's no ads on this site, and no other streams of revenue besides donations.

I'm not an insider of this site. I just know business. A dedicated server, which we are on costs alot more $$$ than being on a shared server. If we were on a shared server say as RRF, this site would be crashing big time due to traffic. I've been there with RRF and my own sites.

Please also realize the time these guys put into the site with no money paid to them. They do it out of love for the Rams and us. Last I saw, we had over 200 members on this site. If everyone donated, that would be under $1 per member. I'm calling on every member to donate $5 though.

I know times are tough, but I enjoy this site. I've donated before. If you enjoy this site, please step up and donate if you can.

I'm unemployed at the moment and will donate $5. Hell, if someone donates $10, I'll match them. That'll put us over 50% for the month. C'mon people I challenge you all.

Also saying thanks to CGI, RamFan503, Prime Time, X, Phx, and others who were mods here before. Thanks to the pit bosses also.. Peace.

I know it sounds crazy but I think this site should charge to have an account. First month free and after that $1 per month. That's extremely affordable and with 200+ members it would easily pay off the goal and more.

Wow! Thanks Dag - and of course everyone who donated. I haven't donated since I became a moderator but I watch that section all the time and I noticed a sudden increase. This site does cost money to operate and the only money taken in is that from the posters in those donations. Notice there are no ads or annoying pop-ups like some other sites.

It's cool for someone to take this up as I'm sure you are not going to see CGI asking for donations. It truly is for the love of the Rams and this site that he does it. Either that or he has a screw loose.

I have been wanting to do a thread like this for awhile. I am Glad you did. The donations goal is down to only 150.00 which is nothing,hopefully we get back to 250.00. I would like to know the cost per active user to keep us afloat with a small emergency revenue pad. Ask CGI what the Cost of operation is and if we get a large enough group together we can spread the cost at a nominal rate amongst the willing.

That's a nice idea,but the problem would be members would feel they should have the ability to post anything they want, since they are paying to be a member here. And trust me, it doesn't go well for the moderators at that point

That's a good point. I guess it just doesn't cross my mind to be an asshole for $1.

To all -

I find this topic a tad uncomfortable and uncertain how to respond... But here goes;

Thank you for the response to this message. I want membership to know this thread was not covertly initiated by myself, but appreciate the gesture by Dags and those that have chimed in with words of encouragement.

To those that have donated; I will send you a personal thank you.

To those that have donated this year prior to this thread; thank you for supporting us.

To those that cannot donate now or choose not to; thank you for your contributions via participation.

To everyone; if we lose next Sunday - no refunds!

The question was asked how much it costs; I set the target at $150/mo because that's a level I am comfortable with. Some months we come up short. Some months we exceed. There are future needs and things we could consider which is why a larger target may make sense. I have some ideas possibly for the New Year to add to the quality of things. Regardless, please rest assured all donations go toward our board.

I hope my message here comes off as intended as I ramble a bit. I do not want anyone to feel pressure on the topic of donation and rest assured I am committed to our oasis without donation. But I say that knowing our members have always stepped up. We all love this community.
